I just re-read this thread start to here. You know what it sounds like to me? A discussion on Metallurgy. Serious stuff - yet at the end of the day, a Metallurgist's favorite quote is: "It Depends..." :)
To the OP - could you be a bit more specific what you are looking for, or how we can best help? I am still a bit confused what you are asking....
I have only had one jacket made with Shinki leather, a Buco J23 replica by Diamond Dave. Overall, my preferance runs to the heavier, thicker Horse...
Still on the fence regarding Vicenza. I can see the delicate topcoat of black over the brown, which looks quite nice at this time. I guess overall I am just more partial to heavier leathers. However this is some very nice material overall. It's problaby ~ 4.5 lbs total. That was part of the...
So after all that, here is a Ridley again. Decided to give this one a try. So far, I really like it!
Vicenza Blackend Brown Horsehide. Feels perfect on this style of jacket. More photos / full review soon, for now just a few fit photos:
Heck of a deal if it fits you! I actually really like the panels with crazy grain sprinkled throughout this jacket, gives it a really nice vibe. Terry, as is very well known is fantastic to work with as well.
That's Alpaca wool - see this photo showing the same thing in Gray inside a black Highwayman(also in a "38" but nowhere close to what this individual is looking for - 23" pit to pit.)
Lucas - thanks for sharing these photos. It's breaking in very nicely and showing a "warm black" Tea core effect. Nice that it also likes tea.
As I read this I am wearing a ~ 1.5 year old PMHWM with cordovan FQHH that is not yet showing tea core at all yet. I believe this jacket has been...
^^ Nice, I am a big fan of Jack Stack's. Been there many times (KC & Jack Stack's). There's a lot of great BBQ in your region. I did not go to Iowa State, however. From Illinois and I bleed Orange & Blue ILL - INI :)
Hello sir and welcome to FL! May your wallett survive...it can really take a hit fast.
Glad to see a KC person on here. Not that far away. For your first leather jacket, that's quite a jacket right there! and will only get better as you wear it.
Bumping this thread back to life. This "Size 48" Perfecto - styled TRD leather just turned up at my place yesturday. It was in the "deals" thread and was indeed quite a deal. Everything Guppy talks about with these is indeed very true of this model. Soft, yet suprisingly heavy cowhide...
