I agree with you, David based on the one time I took my Cervo out (winter) very little, almost nothing, I'd say, wind was felt inside. Perhaps in the summer the effect will be more apparent.

Not my head. When it rains, or there's rain in the forecast, I bring an umbrella whether wearing straw or felt ;). I also doubt that much water would be able to pass through less or 1mm holes.[huh]
Thanks, Eric. Here's the photo, the same as buler's. This one looks quite easy to replicate. I've been wondering if I could use my tool on straw hats... I have to get me a cheap, fairly tight weave to experiment...
