If what I'm going to say is even possible, I think the pocket one is nicer (the felt looks to be in nicer shape... smoother finished) than the "rollable" Nice find, Alan. And yes, I am SO jealous lol lol
Would you be surprised if I say that I love your Borsalino, Alan? That liner, Dio santo!
Are you planning on rolling it on occasion?
Edit: is it Argento?
Very nice Stratoliner, Zetwal. Are Strat crowns lower than Alessandrias? Part of me being "scared" of thin ribbons is how massive their crowns usually look. Yours looks well balanced.
Thanks, Shohei. It came in the triangular box but the debate is still up as whether these hats are really meant to rolled...
Thanks, Rob. Bismuto indeed!
A tiny bit of unraveling only on the smaller holes. The above picture is right after I did it. Once I trimmed it, the straw looks fine. (will post new picture soon) The "straw" samples posted a few pages back, might not be actual toquilla or perhaps were treated with something that helps prevent...
I guess it is possible. It's harder to do than felt as the toquilla is very delicate... I used the "Jimmy" dimensions on this, my Worth & Worth "diamante" (the color of the pattern may look a bit different 'cause I lightly sprayed it with water afterwards so some of the fibers would set back...
I asked Jimmy and Robert to kindly measure the diamond patterns of their hats. I translated those numbers into photoshop and made this comparison between Jimmy's Shore Club, Robert's Dobbs and my VS. (Rusty, if you're thinking diamond pattern for your hat, please choose one)
I found a piece of brim I saved from a mutilated panama. I'll be testing the tool tonight in the straw, if it works, you'll soon have a vented whippet.
I agree with Robert but can see your point too, James. I also like that you both acknowledge it. Let's try and not digress too much from subject, guys. Be good [bad] lol
