    It's not, really. The only difference is that the 141/118 etc are sized one size bigger than the corresponding 641/618 in the same size. It's not a different cut. A 118 in 40 = 618 in 42; the pattern is the same.

    Actually based on the motorcycle on the label, I’m going to place this at late 70s to perhaps very early 80s, early enough that the old buckle was in use.

    Late 60s through 70s, based on the label and miter buckle. In the 80s they switched to a sort of flat top/bottom and rounded sides buckle, then in the 90s to a square buckle like the old detachable belt models had.

    Sounds like the real solution would be to get the optional belt. It's good that it's slightly loose on the waist; that's the point! Use the belt to cinch as needed.

    Honestly, the previous fit looked like crap even on skinny guys, lol. It had no dimensionality to it, just looked like a flat design (made out of beautiful materials).
