Here is the Montana that I received yesterday. I have steamed the brim down some, but more to go. Got rid of the feathers and put on a band that I already had, not sure about it. Undecided on recreasing. The color is closest to the outside photos.

Thank you 65! You have contributed much! Always nice to have another enthusiast aboard. I thought no one would be interested in my western hats, when I first posted. Everyone was nice and welcoming. The wide variety of styles is interesting and I have learned a lot.

Forgot it was coming? I would have been pacing, looking out the window, and repeatedly checking tracking! Two beautiful hats this week, congratulations!

I remember when those feathers were so popular during the seventies. I worked in a western store and sold hundreds of them.
Mostly cheaply made, and always ugly!

This one is original. It is stitched exactly like those macrame bands on Resistols. No hooks like after market. Anyway, it had to be cut off and is now in the trash.

Based on the tag, and the feathers, I say 70s. The feather band was original as it was stitched to the hat in typical Resistol fashion.

Resistol Montana, came with dead rooster hat band, appears original. There is no ribbon underneath, so guess I will have to make one. No way that chicken is staying on this hat.

Amazing! You're probably aware of pigable lines that are being installed now. The pig travels the line under pressure and can inspect, read, and send information as well as clean lines. How far we have come.

That is a very good looking western hat. I think it's a good choice taking this one in that direction. Would like to see what you do with it.
