I believe this to be from the 1940s/50s time frame. The "Hat-A-Way" was branded under "Knox Hatters".
The device comes folded in an envelope that is 17"x12". The front of the envelope has a logo of a hat, as well as the title of the item inside. The reverse has photos showing how to use the hat...
From what I gather, the plastic felts are rare, even more so being a Mallory variant. It seems that right after Stetson took over, they produced the same model with the Stetson company logos on place (same embossing methods and all). Can see this in the hat Alan shared in the Plastic Felt...
