Even then you will see a difference between the top layer and the inner layer.
If you take a bit of sandpaper and rub the top of that sample it will still show as a lighter patch.
I don't think enough people have realized that.
I think too many people still think that an uncomfortable leather jacket is a sizing problem rather than a jacket pattern problem.
It took me 7 years and 50 jackets to understand that!
+1 to that, my CXL Aeros are by no means the thickest/heaviest of my collection, they are actually right in the middle. I have many far thicker/heavier jackets that are much more comfortable and have far better range of motion.
CXL is not that big a deal, it gets nice and flexible and breaks in...
I wonder what will happen when you wear it and the natural grain tries to come through.
Will it take over and will the printed grain fade a bit as the natural grain takes over or will the printed grain stay that prominant. Also, i wonder how rain will affect the printing, humidity in the leather...
That is also my problem with Aero, IMO the patterns are not very good, the jackets are just not very comfortable.
I currently own 4 Aeros, used to have 2 more and have tried many others in various stores, and none of them are what i would call comfortable jackets, because of that i very rarely...
"Don't do it, there are better jackets out there."
I would still buy a used Aero if it had the right measurements for me and was somethign really special, but i would never spend new money on an Aero again.
If you are hoping an Aero will have better range of motion than a Schott you are in for a...
That leather sure is strange, but the proportions of that jacket really work well on you.
A sad thought for the SanMateo, hope she went to a good home.
That's not weird, that's Schott, they design their jackets for the beer belly crowd.
And Yes, a Vanson will be much better, and cheaper!
Vanson are IMO some of the best US made riding jackets.
Thanks, it really is an amazing jacket.
Stu just sent me the elastic strap that holds the collar back (it was missing), once it is a bit more broken in and i have lived with it a bit more i will take more pics and post a review of it.
I fully understand that one would not want to spend that kind of money on such an expensive jacket considering it's something you can't wear most of the year, i ment keep an eye out for a used one...
I got mine on eBay, it was completely unworn, no elbow creases, literaly looked like a brand new...
Definitely going to check this out.
If you guys have never heard of Jean Dujardin you should also check out "OSS 117: Cairo, Nest of Spies"
Its IMO one of his best movies.
You should consider the B2, it is very close to a B3 in shape and features, but the alpaca lining makes it much more wearable day to day. I can wear mine from freezing up to 10c pretty comfortably. The collar is even bigger than the B3, i really like it.
Excuse the crap pic, all i have right now:
No, the B-2 only has the front chest pocket.
No inside pockets either.
I have one and it really is a great jacket, much more wearable than the B3 as not as warm.
Personally i am unable to wear a B3 in 3-5c without turning into the sweatiest man alive.
To me it has to be -5c to be able to wear one coomfortably, even 0c is not cold enough.
I have also been looking at John's B-3 and a part of me really wants it, but i have two B-3 jackets already and living...
Weird, i have:
42 CHP
42 Chopper
M Commando x2
M Denver (Racing shirt)
M HD Cycle Champ
42 Stormer (Belstaff style)
I really could not comfortably size down in any of these an i have a 41" chest.
Personally i think it is a bit sad, it kinda kills street photography.
I spent years doing this and now that i am back in Belgium i can't legally do it anymore...
