None of my CDs touch the top of my head, no hat I own does that = couldn't stand to wear it.
It does depend on the type of crease you do as well.
I prefer rather long side dents with a good "tugboat" profile to my creases = a good drop from the front pinch to the rear crease with a gentle rise...
When we got married, my wife picked out an "every day" pattern for both dishes & silverware & a "good china" pattern. We got full serving sets of both of up to 12. She has built the every day stuff to 16. I have never seen or used the good china stuff in the past 20 years. Since moving over 16...
Art's conformer only measures your head shape where you wear a hat & thus the parts that touch the sweatband. You'd need some type of software to map your entire noggin shape. Art's band blocks are only as wide at a sweatband but in the actual shape derived from the conformer he uses.
The yoke & the vertical lines give it a corset look to me, thus a feminine vibe.

I ordered my usual size for both Heritage & Imperial & haven't had an issue with the Heritage being that much too large after I creased it.
If it is quite large now, I think it will stay large for you. The sweatband is different as...
Every one of my new CD's out of the box in open crown shape went down over my ears like this.
Once I creased them, either teardrop or diamond, they fit just fine. A couple of wearings and they fit like customs....
I've lived in plain ropers for years.
I have some with stitching on the toes that does go more western.
You can't beat the plain brown or black roper with jeans to slacks to suits in my book.
I have Lucchese ostrich no quill black ones as well as Justin & Ariat ropers.
I can wear & walk in...
NO salt water! Use distilled water.
Wet the back of the sweatband & leave the hat inside a car in the sun of Miami for a couple of hours...that may shrink it more than you need.
Wet it then set the hat on a lampshade with a good 75watt+ bulb. Check it periodically till it fits like you want then...
