    Aero mtm is only better if you need it. I have an OTR build. My Schott 118 patern is pure perfection for me. Schott may have had some bad years and definitely makes some ugly jackets but i think the vitriol found on fanboy sites is because they are not a boutique brand.

    So far the hype seems earned. Foot insert is comfortable from the get go and being removable i can put arch support in. Stitching is very good. Noticeably better than my Lucchese which cost the same.

    Uneven grain

    Not enough info. Eastmans military jackets often have “time worn” finishes etc. i have not seen any of their military jackets with smooth even grain. I think they look better how they are. “Weak spots” seems highly unlikely and in the mind.
