Same here, but a coal fireplace remains in my living room, and I occasionally toy with the idea of getting the chimney re-lined and trying it out.

Alas, in a couple days of wear, I've discovered that this watch gains about 15 minutes in 24 hours. I re-set it at 6am and already it reads 10:02 at 9:56. :(

How far are you from this slant six on Allentown Craigslist? A slant six that was running last year may very well not need a rebuild to be swapped. If you were closer, I'd turn you on to my mom's neighbor, who has a '64 Dodge truck chassis with a slant six in his back yard that he'll never do...

It's a playful way of saying that he does not compare favorably with you. Imagine a stage production where a very good performer is followed by a mediocre one. I suspect the saying comes from Vaudeville.

Besides, here...
The S10 long-box frame seems to be a swap well suited for early ‘50s pickups. The AD Chevies, in particular, almost seem like the S-series chassis was designed for them.
Does your Cornbinder have the enlarged wheel wells like a lot of heavy trucks? If so, what do you plan to do for rear...
