^^^that's great to know. TY for info. In case he gives me some options. Might as well get this as close to right as possible.
In looking back at length, I think what messed me up some was I recently bought an Aero from Thurston Bros. I used the specs that they said the jacket was as...
another vote for hatsdirect.com. They are great. Shipping super fast if you choose the expedited version and only costs like an extra $7 or 8 more IIRC.
They're about to get a new style (well new to their site) called the Avalon. You can see on Akubras main site. And that has a really cool...
Stop watching that video. You're falling into their click bait trap LOL
Yeah I agree to a sense that sure, you can't wear a jester hat proudly and look like a stud. But within some "regular" boundaries of style (color, shape, patterns, etc.) it makes of difference. Of course a little flare...
this is the photo that scares me. It's probably a major job to change it out now given they have to redo the zipper too since it goes all the way up. I'll see what he says. I mean I probably would never wear it all the way up, more like what you posted above, but it's actually closer to 4.5...
I'm 6'0 but I do have longer torso. I asked for 26.75, so maybe rounding error for them. I don't mind if it comes slightly below. I'm more worried about the collar now. I sent him a note to change, hopefully they can do before shipping. Has anyone else corrected anything after they saw the...
^^^^Those photos should help him for sure.
I just got my confirmation. Everything looks great except the collar seems tall. Looks better folded down. Maybe just that one angle seems weird. Most my leather collars seem to be 3", this one is 4" so not sure. Mr. Proper, how wide/tall was...
Probably could take an inch off each measurement (shoulder, p2p, length, sleeve length, waist, but hip looks about right) and slim up the poofiness of the sleeves. Neck opening is slightly big too.
Is that the distressed buffalo? Has some good shading going on already.
haven't heard from Shawn in several days. Paid for jacket last week, was hoping it would be in the mail already based on what others said about how fast they were. Wonder if we slammed him with all our customized stuff LOL.
More eager to get the leather samples so I can plot out my next...
gorgeous jacket. I bought an Aero B3 off the classifieds yesterday. It's going to be way overkill for my "chilly" los angeles weather, but was a good deal and will give me a sense of what to do next. But keeping my eye out on a few of these for sure.
I've got about 14 months to go before I can officially start posting to this thread, but rest assured, I'm putting in the work now. Assembling a good collection of leather jackets, starting the break in, and hoping to be half as cool as some of you when the time comes.
Leather jackets, much...
read a book years back, think it was called The Burma Road. Went into great detail about The Flying Tigers. The planes would almost scrape their bottoms on the Himalayas. There was a funny story about the pilots dropping fried chicken out of the planes to some trapped workers/troops to keep...
I agree. Prefer to leave open, at least first several wears until you get a sense of what you want. I don't have a Camp, but have Fed 4, Bushman, and Sidney. I steamed in a high tight pinch on the Sidney and I like it, but I prefer being able to mess around. The creases won't be as tight as...
watching closely. I have samples coming for the leather. I asked him to send me the sheepskin. If it's good, I might try the D1, especially if you give thumbs up to the quality of the leather.
Dang, we getting fancy now LOL. Your measurements are pretty close to mine, but I went 15.5 inches bicep circumference. I haven't received the jacket yet, but that's the measurement on a few of my jackets and it works for me, in fact might be slightly "poofy". The taper to the wrist opening...
ah good to know. The one on the website is definitely really close. I think it needs to be a little more "boxy", not so tapered. But their website photos leaves a lot to be desired, so I'm going to give them a few more photos for reference. They had one on their FB page and again, was pretty...
Jacket fit looks pretty close. Maybe hot water treatment? You can probably shrink down a quarter/half size for sure without risking the zipper issues and all that.
My jacket-- the Mr. Proper Amelia Earhart-- should be shipping out tonight. Hopefully get it early next week. I've got a bunch...
LOL, btw, it's 90 where I live today in Los Angeles suburbs, so jacket is still getting worn regardless. But we don't get the humidity I"m sure east coast and midwest get. Need the break in to progress. Got like 3 jackets to get ready for proper wearing out here. Been wearing it around the...
