I've been trying to land a Johnson. There was one or two on ebay past couple days that were a smidge small for me. I think I posted link on Finds and Deals thread.
Branded I can tell you is beastly. It's on the edge of being too much. I don't ride so I don't need the extra protection, but...
Some of us are doing like 1 or 2 on chest. I guess it all depends. If you're using for motor cycle riding, you probably need more comfort. But for fashion, if you want snug, anything more that 4 is going to be baggy. Just visualize what that means. Basically 2 inch gap on each side of your...
I'm eyeing that RAF Battle of Britain on Aero page. I wonder if it's same thickness as your Coastal Command. I have a B3 and really love it, but it's impractical for all day use. More for like quick dog walk or sitting by fire pit. I still want a sherpa style that I can wear "stylishly" so I...
Where ever it fits tighter, add a little to that measurement. Just keep in mind how the math works. So lets say you want an extra inch in the chest to fit a sweater, you're adding .5 to ptp measurement.
Yep, exactly. On waist and bottom hem, you do half since you usually give 1 side. So if you measure a 40 hip (bottom hem), that's 20 + .5 for me to get a snug fit (equals 41 total measurement)
yeah, that is real nice and another that would fit perfectly. For a while I was thinking about getting an Aero Indian Ranger. If this one was closer in price, I'd easily buy that instead of a new Aero. But I think I'm good with cross zips for a while. I gave my Schott 519 a wash yesterday...
most of us haven't gotten our first jacket perfect, so you're in good company.
It's definitely a preference thing, but 6 inches is way too big IMO. I think 3-4 chest, and like 1.5-2.5 body. Bottom hem I go pretty skinny, like 1. But I live in Los Angeles, so I'm not layering under jacket...
Do it all the time. What's going to shrink it is heat when drying. Hot water on leather, I wouldn't suggest. You might scorch it. But you want to get the leather soaking wet and then either bright, hot sunny day outside or stick in dryer.
Warning, due at your own risk. I've done like at...
I've been lucky (I guess) past 2-3 weeks.
I got a Branded Garments CHP on ebay for $250 all in. This thing could be a flak jacket straight out. Build is great, leather is real nice, and if no one throws it away along the way, I think my great great great grand kids will be wearing this. It...
Basic black jacket from Johnson Leathers. Sent me an offer for $175 but it's too small for me.

No name racer. Looks like nice leather. he sent me a 15% off offer. so don't be scared by price if you like it. looks like he's trying to move it.

LOL. That's what I told Greg. I want to be able to eat a plate of pasta every once in a while.
Now I see the extra width from the side shot. It's amazing his pattern though, it looks so snug from front. Yeah, I think the shoulders are giving you the impression it's snugger than what it...
perfect. yes, agree with everything you said. If you're taking your body measurements with a tshirt on, obviously not as thick as leather will be, so you need to figure another .25 for that. And then I think adding 1 to 1.5 inches to total circle measurement (not just one side) depending on...
wow that's nice. Another that would fit me perfect. I can't do it. Would be my 5th black cross zip LOL. I just bought a Just Leathers San Jose CHP inspired yesterday that might be a tad big. If so, I'll do a catch and release and maybe grab this if still avail. There's also an old Vanson...
he's going to source the copper for me, going to be a surprise.
I'll double check with him, but all my jackets and even the 5 star I built from scratch, are only 1 maybe 1.5 inches (total measurement, not just one side) bigger on waist (like belly button area lets say) against my actual body...
