Re-enactor photo.....Not sure of the format of this one (looks like just a B&W) but we DO have many Tin and CDV photographers out there now...there is even a university that specializes in these ?reproduction? photo's......will cause a lot of problems for collectors years from now....
I would comment here that due to the composition of early Cellulose it does yellow with age...I have different items (toys, figurines, even rayon wedding dresses, clothing articles) made with the older cellulose compositions that do oxidize (both yellowing and foxing) and it has no connection to...
My guess is it was done up for a costume........It was fashionable for women to wear toppers and net up their hair when riding at different times.
Additionally, hair pieces for women have been around for centuries.....so, also may be a women either adding to her hair or hiding shortened...
