Well there was a wide ribbon hat in the late 30's in the "air light" line of felts that was also called the Open Road. But the classic thin ribbon model which everyone knows as the OR should have binding.
The new hemp Stratoliner is sized S-M-L, which is a bit annoying, but I wouldn't do so far to say Stetson has fallen. They've been steadily picking themselves up this year as far as I'm concerned. Very pleased with my Premiere Stratoliner. Have yet to get my hands on the new excellent quality...

The Dobbs Game Bird was also a similar looking hat from the time period in certain iterations.
I'm really interested in the Stetson Runabout, and Runabout Pro..although someone here mentioned that they didn't like water? I can live with it not being a rain hat, the main thing that's keeping me away is the S-M-L sizing.

Brim is a bit wider, but I reckon that's the best match for you. I'd advise you not to mash the front crease like that however.
