I just bought a pair of French Foreign Legion boots for £30 in nos condition. Can't send a pic but I'll put an ebay link in 'vintage finds' to an identical if rather overpriced pair (not in this thread for fear of bartenders). They are incredibly well made and surprisingly comfortable and...
Edward- I'll let you know those measurements in a week when I get home. Oh and the ball and chain pull was missing from the right hand pocket so yes quite an odd concept of bought from new and never been worn but I'm still happy with it.
Yep - me, after a decent wait to allow others time to look I gave in to the temptation and bought it. It arrived a few days ago as the seller (new on eBay and a little inexperienced) had a few problems with PayPal so I had to wait for posting until my cheque cleared. In fact it has been worn -...
Silly me - here is the link sans space

I've posted this mainly to assist Ross817 in the id of the 'Schott' cafe racer in the Outerwear section.
I think it may be by Lesco who I think were based in NYC and made quality leather goods including jackets and hand bags. I have the same style with a Lesco labelled zip in liner. Interestingly a number of Schott and Lesco jacket designs are similar. I wonder if Schott bought the designs when...
Yep,agreed - exactly right - the wild Kudu just started the wearing in process early, adding some initial patina and allowing me to wear it and enjoy it not coddle it and worry about marking it.
Its certainly very supple straight away more so than fqhh is ,I gather, but as for thickness I don't have a fqhh one yet - but I'll let you know in a few days Simonc when my latest ebay buy arrives - an 'unworn' Aero fqhh biker jacket.
I kept to Ken's original recommendations with moleskin lining in the body and sleeves and thick cotton twill lined cuffs. I only pressed him for one change - an extra half inch on the sleeves. I'll post more pics in a while to show how it ages and yes a bit of scarring to start with makes me...

Here are a few pics showing the scarring I believe the wait was long owing to it being a new model- Ken only approved the 44" chest test jacket earlier this month.

I ordered it last October (when it was called the 1920's half-belt and it arrived today. As has been posted elsewhere the last batch of Kudu has a bit of scarring under the finish but to me that's not a problem as
a)...
It all depends on the occasion. When walking the dog in rain it's a vintage (n.o.s) Barbour Solway Zipper plus complementing Barbour rain hat. For formal occasions either a single or double breasted full length Burberry raincoat or a short black Aquascutum double breasted raincoat or a short...

BIN £120 but I'll sell to one of you for £90 plus postage - make me an offer?
So sorry but it sold for £120 while I was posting this classified.
Well someone thought so and bought it for £180 and look here is an identically similar one - auction this time:

As it says in the title but says it's 'never been worn'. Dates from 1990 according to the listing.

Hmm I thought it took a while to get responses and here was me thinking that members were 'playing poker' and not letting on which shops are good for the kind of stuff I seek, when in fact some were thinking "here we go again".
My apologies skyvue but I tried a search for NYC and New York on...
The meet up thread is good but not specific on where to buy stuff, surely some of you know good retro clothing shops, thrift stores etc. etc.
Cheers
Rob
