I like Ton312's analogy about the wrinkled paper. I get creases down the back when I drive while wearing a jacket.
And of course there are the arm creases.
It also makes sense that any loss of moisture, oils, waxes etc. may contribute to area loss from shrinkage and leather memory. I definitely...
That makes sense. I just checked and yes, there is slight sagging of lining. Nothing shows below the hem but it is close. May have to get the lining at the hem adjusted if it goes any further.
Just measured. Lost one inch off the back. Now a perfect length for me.
After 30 hours in the sun and one damp cloth wipe down.
Not CXL- Vegetable tanned horsehide.
Up in Canada we shrink leather with our weather and win NBA titles.......;)
I have owned about 5 cxl jackets.
Whatever the environmental/lifestyle factors that contribute to length loss, they exist for me.
I wear mine in all four seasons to some degree, less of course in the summer. Maybe the exposure of temperature variance and relative humidity come into play.
ps in the photo of the rear it appears you are bringing your shoulder blades together, which makes sense, to get the shot. A relaxed photo of the back would be a better indicator of fit.
Packaging is like the drum role before the "reveal".
I like that too but Lost World's and Aero via Thurston Bros have no bells and whistles but damn nice jackets!!!
You, Regius, have some outstanding jackets with versatility. You could probably mix and match forever with your current choices...
I like the fit of this jacket in general.
The collar--It will break in.
The scratches- do not even worry about it.
Over time the cxl will lose an inch from the back length- always seem to.
Sleeve length- you will lose length from creasing and I personally really like the creased sleeve look...
