Aero Cafe Racer - Keeper? ( Fit Pics)

If you decide to keep it I think it will work out just fine in a few months of wear.
I also had the collar problem on my Aero Cafe Racer. I also had a humping back problem. But once broken in the drape became much better. The CXL leather looks awesome and screams high quality, but is not the best on day one or when the cold wind blows.
The sleeves do appear longer than usual but it could also be how your photo was taken. I wouldn't suggest size down. If the sleeves bothers you then return and get one with shorter sleeves.

I think it is obviously too large. Excessive leather across the shoulders with baggy upper arms. Sleeves are too long and will never wrinkle up enough to look good. Body is so long it's on the verge of looking strange on the cafe style. I am trying to be honest rather than sugar coat and advise you to accept it as good enough to keep. Hope that you were looking for a straight forward critique.

I’m torn. Can see both sides. In general I can see sizing down. But, and it bears mentioning, I’ve never been able to fasten the stud at the neck on my Aero CR’s so maybe I should’ve sized up. The only thing standing out to me is the sleeve diameter, which looks quite generous.

Perhaps some time at the arm farm.

ps in the photo of the rear it appears you are bringing your shoulder blades together, which makes sense, to get the shot. A relaxed photo of the back would be a better indicator of fit.

I could never get my Aero Cafe Racer's collar done up either- too tight.

I always considered it decorative. Much like the throat latch on my BL’s. No chance at wearing it and getting that together. Not without a helper.

I solved the mystery why this is too large for my usual 40. Aero’s info tag and listing stated 22.75 for Pit which is why i purchased it. This has worked for me before, along with the longer length I prefer. In reality the Pit is actually 23.5 which explains the baggy chest / back.

Think they would / should cover a new custom order as an even exchange? Even though this was a CR from stock price. Clearly an error on them in measuring / tagging

Try measuring from the front. That's generally how it's taken.

Same difference. Pit-pit should equal half of the total chest circumference.

I wouldn’t take a smaller 38 with 18”shoulders. Always need 19”. But pit from 22 to 22.75 is ideal for me.

It won't hurt to get a smaller one but the difference between 22.75 and 23.5 is almost negligible. This isn't what I see in those huge arms and billowng back. I hope the next one fits better.

In general, judging by the photo is very difficult and sometimes not correct. First of all, you yourself must understand. If you are comfortable not what does not interfere, then you should wear and have fun. The jacket is completely new, it should die out to take shape. The sleeves will shrink and become slightly shorter. If it is a size smaller then it will probably be very dense and there will be discomfort.

Yeah I can't stand a sleeve that is constantly pressing into my wrist...

As for the fit, the standard Aero CR is a tough fit "as is". The taper is pretty extreme even for me and I have a 9 or 10 inch drop (ie 41" chest with 31/32" waist) depending on how many donuts I've eaten recently...

There is a reason Thurston Bros always recommend sizing to your shoulder and chest and then adding a bit to the waist, the taper might be good for crouching over on a bike but for a standard everyday jacket, its too wide in the shoulders when it fits the waist for most.
