Selecting the right hat cleaner
I've used the light Scout cleaner on a couple of sweat stained silver belly hats with good effect and no problems. It takes a bit of brushing to get the residue off the hat, but that's all I've found. -

I don't know if the rings could be bought that way or not, but I remember my Mom crocheting the rings on ours when I was a kid. Not only did the shades turn yellow and brown, but they finally got brittle and then ripped.- JimWagner
