On PBS last night, an episode of Doc Martin followed by an episode of Grantchester. Solid shows and for me, much better than most of what is on FOX, ABC, NBC, and CBS.

The movie hooks me with Bogart, the fact that it is a David Goodis story, and the “beautiful B&W cinematography ofjust-post-WWII San Francisco.” It has its flaws, but as you said, “...if you just go with it, it’s an enjoyable movie...”

I had seen bits and pieces of that Conan before I finally saw the whole film. I didn’t expect much from the bits and pieces I had seen, but like you, was surprised. The same can be said for Howard’s Solomon Kane flick.

Even as a relatively young’n, I found most sword and sorcery movies to be poorly done. As a big fan of Robert E. Howard stories and Conan, I looked forward to the Conan the Barbarian movie. I enjoyed it but not so much the sequel.

We are fortunate to have a mailman who is a great guy and top notch at his job. He gave us his phone number early on just in case. He had a package that needed a signature, but no one was home. He left a note stating for us to give him a call and if he was out and about, he would bring it on...
