Joli7211 - I see you are located in Canada; I got mine at Shopper's Drugmart. I got the orange ones but they carried 2 other sizes I believe. They are near the hair section but not mixed in with the usual stuff; I think they are on the end of an aisle.
I really like the orange perm rods...
I'm really interested in this cake mascara business. The thimerosal really puts me off though. Is there a cake mascara out there without thimerosal? I did a bit a research and found a few tube mascaras that were listed as mercury free so it sounds like it's common in both tube and cake...
Tonic water contains quinine, a derivative of hydroquinone! That's why it glows in a black light. Maybe it can be used as a facial[huh] Just thought I'd throw that in there.
I used to go to the gym every other day. I totally understand your frustration. (I don't go as often because I'm 7 months preggers:) but I can't wait to start again.) I prefer to work out in the morning. In which case I would set my hair overnight;the next day was not a gym day. The second...
I bought a few perm rods last night. I couldn't find peach colored rods but they had orange ones which looked close enough in size. I used 4 foam rollers for the hair around my face and the 12 perm rods I got in one ($2.29CAD) pack were enough for the back. I haven't taken them out yet but I...
Sounds nice, I'll have to try that. My hair is curly and my baby hairs usually form little ringlets if I let them air dry. I'll try wearing them curly with a vintage style.
I have little baby hairs all around my face. They are very fine and about 2 inches in length. They also appear to be exempt from the laws of gravity. They fly up everywhere , and I mean UP; I look like Einstein if they aren't kept in check. I either need lot's of grease to keep them slicked...
I saw this in a magazine and thought it was pretty cool. Has anyone tried this? I like that you can send in a tube of lipstick for them to custom recreate.

I've heard wonderful things about perm rods and I've seen pictures of great results as well. I am currently using sponge rollers (not the long bendy foam type) and I am pretty satisfied. I am thinking of trying perm rods and I was wondering how they differed from sponge rollers? dry time...
Smuterella- I rub the oil in, and then wipe most of the makeup off with a kleenex. Then I apply a little more oil and wash my face like normal.
I love how OCM gets ALL the makeup off. Eye makeup leftovers is my pet peeve: the perpetual smoky eye. Yuck!
My first hair rats!
I've been saving my hair for a few months now and I finally have enough for 2hair rats. I also got a new digital camera for Christmas!;) Here are some pics of what I did.
When I take the hair off my brush, I usually roll it in my palms until it forms a tight ball...
I've found tons of setting instructions for vintage hair styles but they are all done with pin curls. Are there any setting instruction for vintage hair that rely on rollers?
The ones I saw are foam noodles that have a wire inside them so they hold their shape when they are bent. These were just no name brands that I saw at Boots and Asda. The diameter is about 3/4". The WrapSnap rollers look interesting though and I might try to make my own.
I'm in the UK for the New Year and I found some foam bendy rollers at the store. They are hard to find in North America. So I am thinking of buying them to try them out but I have SO many curlers at home. How would they differ from sponge rollers? What have your experiences been with foam...
the sleek crown thing
I'm beginning to get the hang of pin curls. I bought some double pronged alligator clips and they make pinning MUCH easier. I can do pin curls around my face and at the back just fine. The problem I encounter is that when I try to get a sleek crown, the top row of pin...
