Do you think there could be a second Great Depression?

Also, many people who lost "their" homes put no money down on it in addition to knowing it was way more than they could afford, which was also unprecedented before the housing mess. Is it really their house?

Do you think there could be a second Great Depression?

Do you think there could be a second Great Depression?

Underwriting was much MUCH more stringent back then. Banks generally didn't loan people money for houses they (lender and borrower) knew they could not afford. People didn't gamble on adjustable rate mortgages. Houses were homes as opposed to stepping stone investments to be "flipped." I also...

Do you think there could be a second Great Depression?

That's because there's still that thing called "credit" out there that didn't exist during the Great Depression. People didn't have credit cards, and if we didn't have them today you' be seeing a lot more of the reality. also, banks are still handing out money they shouldn't....

I'm about to draw myself a bath, and...

Do you think there could be a second Great Depression?

There are many dual income families with kids who will be hit by this. $1,000, or even $500 less, combined with the increase in the cost of gas, food, heating will be felt.

Do you think there could be a second Great Depression?

$1,001.08: How much more someone making the median household income in 2011 is likely to spend on payroll taxes next year. No matter which party comes out on top in the November elections, nearly every working American is likely to pay higher taxes in 2013 than 2012...

Is the powder room dying on it's feet.

Many people have been posting on the FL since its inception about their disdain towards wearing denim. I love my blue jeans and don't let that bother me.

Aging beautifully and gracefully, then vs now: Who did it better?

Hadley I agree with you about Christie! I'm sure she has had "work" but it's very natural-looking. And by work I mean anti-aging. The rest of her looks like nature put it there.

http://www.tcm.com/this-month/movie-news.html?id=457581&name= I'm really not enjoying Drew Barrymore as Robert Osborne's co-host. I haven't found her commentary on films very interesting or insightful. Wouldn't LizzieMaine make an excellent co-host? :D Has anyone else watched her on...

I love the 60s, but not smoking and drinking! I stopped both long ago, thus the "square" in my name. ;)
