    Families of the Lounge

Thank you all for the kind words. This was actually the second house he built, the house where my dad grew up was built by Grandpa, as well. He built this place, for the most part, from stuff he got from job sites (he was in the trades). I've always loved all the windows. It's always so...

    Families of the Lounge

My Grandma and all her boys, arranged by age. My Uncle Dan, my Uncle Bob, Grandma, my Uncle Mike, and my Dad. My Aunt Vickie, the only girl, and the youngest couldn't make it, and as many of you know, I lost my Grandpa in November. The house is the cottage Grandpa built in 1958. My dad spent...

Golden Era Things You've Revived Or Repaired For Use

I thought the newer mowers had safety switches to prevent going in reverse with the blades on. Push mowers obviously don't, but you'd have a hard time running a child over with one of those. On the other hand, I'm probably not the only guy who still owns and uses relic riding mowers.

I have a rule not to pay over 20 bucks for a stein, I usually pay less than 10 lol I did break my rule for the middle one, it was a very well-made German stein and very large, I'd guess over 24" high. I gave $40 for that bad boy, but I HAD to have it lol

    Where is AtomicEraTom ?

My dad is a devout Hamm's drinker, and keeps it on tap. All I ask of my beer is that it's made in Wisconsin lol I'm happy with a working-class brew.

My brother spotted the jacket at the antique mall. He said "I know you love Satin Jackets, and Cadillacs, and it was an extra large, I knew it was a winner!" He was right! I LOVE satin jackets, too.

I have a friend who is nuts about Saturns. He's constantly buying/flipping them. He's always got at least one for his own use. I don't get the attraction.

I use one at my house (when the dandelions aren't too bad) and my dad uses one at the shop. Mine's not old, but is also beer-operated.

    Golden Era Dog Names

We used to have a cat named Paul. My sister named him after this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=12aoJyPim6k I currently have a cat named Randy. His brother passed last year, named Earl. The biggest character of a dog I think I've ever heard of was my Grandparents' Black Lab, Toby. I have...

    Golden Era Dog Names

We had a Rottweiller named Rocky, a Chocolate Lab named Zeke, a Black and Tan Coon Hound named Zeke, A Yellow Lab named Jake, and now a Rottweiler named Red. My King Charles I have at my house is named Fred. I'm fairly certain that's likely the only one you'd really hear in the Golden Era...

    Terms Which Have Disappeared

Good question, we have them all over town, here. I have one behind my house (Ironically, my driveway comes off the street anyway). I had one behind my apartment I lived in before I bought the house, too. We have the plastic ones at our cabin, still. Been there all my life. Everyone gets...
