Wow, I can't believe I missed this thread until now! There are definitely some great looking Stetsons in here.
Here is my current one and only fur felt Stetson. It's vintage, and while not officially marked as a Whippet, it has very similar dimensions.
Of all the strange comments and behaviors I have been subjected to as a result of wearing my hats, I can safely say I have never had anyone flick my ear to get my attention; little old lady or otherwise.
In comparison to some of the things you've listed here Pompidou, my experience with...
I like to watch people at the university here in town as well as the mall and the airport. Generally you can always view interesting looking people doing curious things regardless of where you are.
This is interesting. I had a similar conversation with a coworker of mine at a former job. I was discussing my difficulty finding "my niche" since graduating in 2008. Along without discussion of where I'd like to go with my career in criminology and investigations, my coworker brought up the...
I've definitely noticed this over the years. I've noticed the same thing with shirts too. In all reality, I'm probably an adult medium, yet more often than not, buy adult small shirts.
I have to agree with this comment regarding Agnes Moorehead. That Suspense episode is still one of my favorites, although I definitely agree that her character was extremely whiney.
As far as scary radio shows go, I love Suspense, The Mysterious Traveler, The Whistler, Lights Out, Dark...

I can't speak for the current generation going through the grade school system, so I don't know what the expectations are anymore. I never got a week off for Thanksgiving, although my family, and many other friends' families I knew wanted it for travel. When I was in my younger years of grade...
I'll have to watch that version someday. I too saw it was on Sunday evening, but had to get up for work early, so I didn't watch it. I've always been curious about that version.
Besides hats, I also have several vintage tube radios, a 1930's rotary phone, somewhere around ten vintage watches, vintage police and security badges, and a ton of radio shows. My collection is fairly eclectic, and nearly anything from the turn of the century to about 1960 is fair game.
Dang! This is a great thread! I've bought two Akubras from The Hattery (Stylemaster and Stingy Brim), and always wanted to see the store in person. I'd love to be able to try on Akubras before buying them. I do have to say that they two Akubras I bought from them were two of the best...
