It's hard to tell, but it is a very, very deep green. It's labeled 'California Classic Idyllwild by Hollyvogue' and 'Nelson's Clothiers, Mission, Texas.'

J.B. Sax was foremost gentlemen's store in the city (Ottumwa, IA) through the 1960s. Some of my best ones have his label. I remember riding my bike through the city cemetery and coming across his huge stone memorial. I got off, paid my respects and thanked him...
Those LA ties are their own breed. I admit, I've never heard the term 'tie shark' before, but I like it. That tie, though, has to be worn by some sort of 'shark.' :cool:
