I have found some great stuff on the side of the road. All of my lawn furniture (vintage 1950s metal stuff...need to get it to the autobody shop for a paint job!), some huge candle holders, an iron day bed with trundle (weighed a ton and I was by myself...), an armoir, the lamp that is next to...
First of all, Tiller, that clip is AMAZING! Wow!
Second, my vote goes with Dean. I've loved him since I was a little girl... a very long time! Probably partly because I remember his show, and he was so charming on it, partly because his voice is like butter, and partly because my father...
MirandaFern, I was just able to find some of that jug starch... I'll have to try that method. If your linen stands Houstin, surely mine will stand Austin! ;)
I think it is to do with the cars...at least partly. Those old, heavy cars, with big bench seats certainly had a comfort level captain's chairs don't have...at least for kids. Of course, the lack of seatbelt laws helped (?!), too. Sprawling across the big back seat, or sitting up and looking out...
As the north of Ireland holds a special place in my heart, may I recommend St. Brendan's instead of Bailey's? Way better. And perfection in coffee (or straight!)
I go with lily, too. I'm from Mississippi, and that is not magnolia I've ever seen! It looks to be a silk flower, as well, so is probably a bit stylized.
Amen, Kamikat!
I fell into that "mom look" pretty bad... just got lazy. I had been a vintage lover for years, and I always cared about my appearance. Then, one day at my kiddo's school, I realized I was dressed exactly like every other mom there... baggy capris, flip-flops, t-shirt, tote bag...
I saw that one go on Ebay, too. It wasn't even all that cute. I guess I missed the curve and only came to Swirl during this current "hype." I blame Fleur de Guerre for looking so darn gorgeous in them, everyone wants one! Darn you, Fleur. Of course... I, too, want one because she looks so...
Marla, That second photo of Margaret is an absolute stunner. What a gorgeous smile, never mind that figure and that dress...and that hair. She could upstage any movie star!
Andrew! We, too, have a greyhound and a border collie. I'd love a second grey, but we just don't have enough sofas! But our grey and BC are perfectly suited to each other (the BC is older, and thus chilled out a good deal of the time, which suits a sleeping grey!).
Our grey is black and...
When I want something sweet, with a nice little cleansing cry, I turn--over and over again--to Truly, Madly, Deeply. I have never met anyone who likes this movie, too. Of course, I've met very few people who have ever heard of it! At least on this side of the pond... Alan Rickman and Juliet...
I agree Smith is a bit Tennant-y. But I think he'll grow on me and come into his own. I, personally, prefer the doctors to be quite different, like Tennant was from Eccleston, and Davidson was from Baker. I find that exciting to watch how they will develop a new character yet keep him the same...
Watched the new Doctor Who last night. I think he'll grow on me, but the companion bugs me... she seems to over act or something. But I'll give her more of a chance. Thought his style was a bit on the "David Tennant side." But hey... there are worse influences! Sadly, I fear an era has passed...
