Thanks, Fanch. Wears great in heavy rain! Only had it for an hour when it came pouring down. I had a place to be, so I figured: why not? The cord lining feels great and luxurious, but is very heavy compared to cotton drill. The strome lining definitely feels thicker than the reiver weight, but...
Cheers! I gotta ask, though. The jacket looks like it only works for really slender people, being either too snug in the chest & shoulders or way too big in the waist for athletically built folks. Or am I seeing this wrong?
That is one gorgeous and unique jacket! Love the elkhide, you don't see much of that around on leather jackets. Sounds like Johson Leathers is the place to go to for a custom designed leather jacket, nice! Wear it in good health.
Thanks for the kind words, monitor! The cord lined sleeves feel awesome, very rich and thick. As for the steer; the heavier the better for me (to some extent, I think... I doubt I can ever find a 13 pound jacket). I was desperately trying to outweigh my Langlitz and this did the trick. I will go...
I saw those pics numerous times (I do my research, haha) and your jacket is absolutely gorgeous... The fit in that picture is exactly what I'm going for. It really looks like an absolutely superb fit, but I know what it feels like when you'd want the jacket to fit just a bit tighter in the...
Cheers, can't wait to see how it breaks in. I know, the length looks spot-on in the pic. It's just that it feels short in the front when I wear it, but if I wanted something longer I should've gotten a Half Belt. I'm used to MC jackets with either shoulder gussets or a bi-swing back, so the...
Thank you!
If you have about a 7-12" drop from chest to waist, I would definitely recommend tapering the jacket 1 size. Makes the jacket fit a bit closer at the waist without sacrificing the classic, boxy Highwayman look. However, the side straps were fully tightened in the fit pic and the...
Thanks for all the compliments, gents!
@handymike I'm already planning on ordering a 38-1711-p on the pattern of the Bronco in brown FQHH this october...
Hi y'all, guess what: My Aero Zip Sleeve Highwayman arrived yesterday and I am LOVING it! This is my first Aero jacket, and I have read through many Aero threads which helped me decide on some of the details. I got the idea for the zip sleeve version from GriffDeLaGriff's jacket :) I especially...
Hi Cole, I know this is an old thread but I'm in the process of working out the details for my own A2 and I have some questions regarding your 38-1711-p. Is this 2nd A2 a true 46, or a 44? Do you have an athletic build, e.g. broad shoulders & small waist? If so, how well does the jacket fit in...
Okay, I have yet to receive it, but my incoming Aero Highwayman in brown Heavy Steer lined with heavy Strome weight tartan weighs 4.5kg (9.9lbs) according to my shipment invoice; thus outweighing my Langlitz as I had hoped! Will put up a thread as soon as I receive the jacket :)
Hi Carrie, the Vanson Colorado and Aero jackets you mentioned are all absolutely stunning jackets, but the styling of the J106 (mainly but not limited to the D-pocket) and the fact that it's a Buco replica really disable me to long for another MC jacket. Could the J106 be made to fit my needs...
Carrie, how tightfitting is the J106 at the waist? Does it have a very pronounced V-shape, like the Schott 641HH? I generally like my jackets to fit very tight at the waist and do not mind a looser fit in the chest area. With a 42" chest and 31" waist I'm thinking of going with a 40 tapered to a...
