Really nice there Monitor!! Use it and enjoy it for use. This one reminds me of my CHP-style "Just Leathers" that I found to be a surprisingly good fit and amazing quality for the $$ I paid for it.
Just wear it and love it. Neat it made it to you in the shape it is in. Great that they got...
Whoa there Carlos...no good at all!
I love dogs, and can occasionally agree with a cat, but none of them live in my place, this being only one reason. Sure sorry to see this, wonder if Stuart or Dena could help out here?
Kenan - you would likely not post this is if didn't bother you. I could go either way, but then I've never spend $2k on any jacket so far. I think it might bug me at least to some degree. If they are willing to take it back - I would tend to do it personally. Good to see the customer service...
I have Harley-Davidson FXRG in a size Large, which fits like a 44 or slim 46. It's a "tool" jacket, practical, great on a bike, with a multi-layer liner, soft pads in shoulders & elbows. Good shape, can provide photos if desired - just do not have any as of today.
Shoulders - 21" (room for...
It's goat alright and it's a durable, flexible and easy to wear leather. It think your fit looks very good here.
Just don't expect much patina, that's not how Goatskin ages. You'll get a little creasing, not much else for many years. This is like the opposite of Horween FQHH (Horsehide)...
Offering this book up for grabs. Would really appreciate being PayPal-ed $15 to cover shipping, as a it's large hardcover book. Just not my taste overall, been sitting on my shelf since 2019.
Free to CONUS folks, (would appreciate a bit for shipping).
Agree with this. Seller puts in "this is my fathers, this was made in the 60s this is genuine leather." I highly doubt it. As we all know "Genuine Leather" doesn't account for much in this field.
If you like thicker leather with a "soft" hand or feel, you could look up Fox Creek Leathers, they use primarily "naked cowhide" which has these traits.
Thier prices are generally reasonable.
It's not my personal preferance, but to those who enjoy it this may be an inexpensive option...
Not to derail us too far here but regarding this...
Why wait for a new house? Can you say...
Y - M - C - A ?? :)
I'm there every day and ours has great resources for all these types of activites, as well as weightlifitng. Not to mention a good trainer as an option too... Your local one...
For the OP: I am re-thinking my original suggestion. You live in Southern California. So I would suggest something lighter than CXL FQHH or a Lost Worlds jacket of any type. I would suggest a lighter weight tumbled hide or Vicenza if you go Aero.
Maxwell - these questions may be best asked of Carrie - Thurston Brothers. She is an expert in these and can set you up with an Aero exactly as you would want it to be.
That's a good point Carlos. My J23 has a little crocidile skin going on currently. But it is very comfortable to wear, is not ever in the way and has a brilliant pattern. It does not have the really nice smell of the CXL, it's just different. It is a canvas for the owner to make it into...
Carlos mirrored my thoughts on Lost Worlds here - not boxy or uncomfortable, but the leather is a little less "interesting" than others. 4+ oz Horse Hide might be a bit much, try is 3.5 oz Horse hide.
So I guess on this lounge, I do not see people keeping jackets for life very often. I certainly have not exampled this myself, although I have slowed way down and am holding onto the 4-5 jackets I own for a longer term.
CXL FQHH is a fast-break-in, rapid degradation leather. My 2 year old...
I have run into similar situations here in the US. People either "know" the company and it's products, or they don't.
Is it indeed longer in the back than the front? That may be part of the reason it's still hanging in the shop. Maybe they will give you a deal on it since they have had it so...
