That's really nice Stephen, looks vintage already. Would like to see some pics of it being worn and some of you in my old horsehide Ventura, if you still have it. Woukd be a great comparison of hides.
Thanks for posting.
Don't understand why Aero would assemble a jacket like that, looks like two separate jackets sewn together! I could live with the odd mismatched panel, if it was the back of the arm say, but this is way too much.
No it was my first, Aero and vintage prior to that. The Ventura was a stunning jacket, but it wasn't made for me - I just hoped it would fit - sadly it was just slightly too small for comfort. The Shinki hide is very nice indeed, similar weight to Aeros medium weight horse but a real quality...
Well spotted! Not much gets past you mate :-) I've nothing against jacket manufacturers, or their agents posting, but trying to operate under the radar is not cool!
I managed to catch it all this morning and for a while, was sorely tempted to bite myself. The initial post rang the alarm bells though; the accusations were so it outrageous it just screamed 'troll at work'! I think Butte was quite restrained under the circumstances. Good work by the...
Great report schitzo, thanks for posting. Really glad you found the jacket patterns you like, pics are great but you can't beat trying stuff on to see if they suit your own frame. Hope they turn out well for you.
So what hides are you going with?
Great find! The Barnstormer is one serious chunk of horsehide that not many could wear. For a first Aero you've jumped right into the deep end :-) Its a real beauty though, nice even colour and hardly looks worn at all.
Would like to see it being worn, if you get the chance. Enjoy!
If this is a standard size 40", it's a very slim fitting jacket indeed! Quite short too with a 24" back. Looks like I'm going to need a 42" with extra length! I do like this pattern, especially the back detail.
Seam to seam 19
Front length 25,
Back24
Pit to pit 21
Sleeves 25.5
Ecellent review, thank you! So good to see Aero's new designs at long last! Difficult to choose a favourite yet, but I do like the look of both the Dustbowl and Speedway. Would like to see some close up pics of the hides.
Could be an expensive time for many here!
Jacket looks a great fit to me Frank. It could be a bit of thinner, jerky type hide in the right shoulder area but it shouldn't be a deal breaker. I'm sure as the whole jacket breaks in and softens, the difference in the way the area creases will just blend in. I think it's rare to get a...
