Here is a lightweight Dobbs Nor Wester, refurb. This was a size 7, so I had re-blocked it to 7 1/4 a while back and gave it a full cleaning. The ribbon brightened right up. It's super light, so I have to hold it on my head on a windy day. :)
Great start today, guys! Nice straws, leather, and felts. I especially like the Gannon, Eric. Smooth color. Moss green?

THAT was very informative. I love the color saturation in your pics when you use the pines as your backdrop. Thanks for the info!!

Your compliments are always appreciated, Alan! :) I LOVE boater hats!! Your collection had inspired me to start building my own. Indeed, boaters can be easily picked for a good price, especially if you're a 6 3/4! LOL However, I've been noticing lately a lot of boaters 7 1/4+ catching up to...
I appreciate it, Crusader. You could always look for a broken down boater (to try), so you don't spend too much if you don't like it. Flat tops and straight lines give each boater a sharp profile.

'Preciate it, Perry! Thanks for reading!!
Thank you, Perry, Charlie, and Bob! I'm working on a couple right now, and I hope to display some future felt on some 'Lounge noggin's! ;) The brim is 2 5/8" wide with a pencil rolled raw edge. Crown is approx. 5 5/8" open. The jacket is part of a 2-piece grey windowpane suit with fine blue...
Hats off to Harv, RJR, Trench, Daniele, Bob, and Charlie. Alan, that's a stunning hat, sir. One of my favorites.
I'm wearing my self made Falcon Park Hattery "Statler" today. Alan, you'll recognize the name. :)
Eric, my friend! Great to be posting. It's always an honor to share my passions with my fellow 'Loungers. Thank you for the compliments. I don't recall if I've seen any boaters on your head or not. No?

My absolute favorite thread! A terrific place for stunning pics, great comparisons, and good reads. It's been quite a while since I've posted here. This comparison is between two Knox boaters.
Both Knox hats are designated "Premier". However, both hats are different in both looks and feel...
Dobbs Panama, long overdue. I haven't worn this since last summer, around the same time. It's a little uncomfortable at first, because the sweatband is drying out and beginning to crack at the stitching. I'll probably add one of my FPH sweatbands after this season.
The straw is very nice...
