Welcome to the 5* family my friend! Excited to see what custom design and leather you go with! Gretchen is a cutie, you are living in her world!
Yes that's the case the premier hwm seem to have a smaller shoulder/higher arm hole/ slimmer sleeves/tapered body for a less boxy look but it's still...
The repairs is what makes it work, that's a great job and prolonged the wear time of the pants. That's how I feel too, the jackets rotations is a must and I just need a few well fitting jeans since I wear a uniform to work and rarely wear jeans/jackets lol. I never had to wear a pair so hard...
Nice! Thats review is so helpful! A soft lamb skin is cool and comfy but to have that feel in HH is just plain awesome. All those home treatments seem to be working too.
Maybe so, I think that's the slim fitting perfecto style jacket that looks so casual to wear that looked so good. It's that...
I think you won the blackened brown lottery! That hide with the pattern and the fit is just a winner!
Wow! That's crazy to wear something so religiously for so long but wow how it turned out! Great job on the repairs!
I remember this jacket, so the 118 is a newer jacket with a full aniline leather. I thought for a moment that it was an older jacket. It's real, it's really real. I caught it bad too lol
Hard to actually say if true or not on photos but that's how my black aniline shinki from FL looks like...
I think the hide I chose is the one they are calling dark brown Vermont. Not sure if it's the same batch though. I requested they cut the jacket in this really dark shade of almost seal brown like the sample they gave me.
The suede side on this looks more uniform and fine.
Congrats my friend. Awesome seeing you in a new JL jacket. Leather looks awesome, brown cxl is really gorgeous. Love the southpaw quirky vertical chest zipper, glad to know I'm not the only weird one here lol.
The fit looks superb, it took a while for me to warm up to my jacket as well because...
Nice fit! That cafe racer is super cool. The jeans are interesting, very different distressing style!
Awesome outfit @MrProper this Ridley j106 is more brown than black looking to me
Looking good! You're working that jacket well! Can't wait to see the mouton version
Yes! Super casual cool...
Order now so you can guarantee to get your jacket by the Fall.
Email him at a later date with the details, he won't work on your jacket anytime soon so you'll have time to figure it out
The brown cossack look more tubular maybe because of the length but it's still a great fit. The green canvass/leather looks as good as any of your other fits.
The bruciato HH is so nice!
It's going to be a good week for you my friend, hopefully you receive both of your jackets this coming week!
Everytime I go to that store I tell you hahaha it's going to be a JL version of the French cyclist/Eastman ostmann jacket, riri zips all around, light wool lining. It's midweight 2.5 oz or so like the Masaye. I should get it within a week or two but I'm guessing it will be a little stiffer than...
Thanks @Tom71 it looks more relaxed now as I look back on initial fit photos.
Agreed, should look better once it breaks in completely and the leather relaxes. This tumbled Cordo CXL hide is much thicker than the black and brown one that I breaked in before.
You bet, always nice to fellow Californian around these parts too.
Horse rump/butt is cool, not as expensive as shell cordovan but they say it has part of the shell so its not too prone to creasing. You know shinki already, that tannery also produce leather for boots. Im sure there's plenty to...
I think there in lies your issue with the rock climbing upper torso and slipping into a fine creek that looks really trim lol i also got the bruising with cxl horsehide but it's probably from the lining bunching up and pinching on the bend of the arm. Shinki is cool but don't fall too deep...
The PHWM does have that high back yoke maybe that's part of the issue. I'm hoping my next Aero will have an even better fit than my cordo PHWM. Your closet chews up leather jackets for fun lol
Forgot to mention welcome to the TFL community.
I'm also new to this hobby. My favorite service boot maker is Truman, they offer a lot of horse rump which is my favorite leather plus their shoe last seems to agree with my feet. I'm sure there are better made service boots out there but Truman...
I'm guessing that feeling of restriction while doing overhead activities while wearing a leather jacket will be there a good while especially if you have jacket made from a thicker hide. Some makers do seem to make better patterns in terms of improved range of motion in the shoulders. I also...
