Gun culture in Europe is sooo different from the USA. Shaping a fedora?
If I read you right, you say the crown is a campaign style. My experience with hat conversions is that campaign crowns tend to be rounder in profile than fedoras so you will lose crown height. I use a plastic straight wall dome block made by Hatshapers for these conversions. -

Can a shoe welt be repaired/replaced?
It is of course predicated on the quality of the boot. If it's a $120 pair of Imported boots made in one of those mass production countries that you buy at The Boot Barn, maybe the cobblers view is the boots not worth the $70 repair, as opposed to say, a pair of Redwings, Whites or Wesco's.- Willybob

Questions about bowlers (hats, that is...)
Question for bowler efficienados. Is this an actual Stetson or did someone sneak a replacement sweat in it? I've never seen a Stetson with someone else's liner.And the sweat shows signs of "re attachment."
