You look good under the green hat, Stefan. I think you might need one or two more of them.
Looking forward to seeing your work, Randall. It is a nice treatment. I like the monochrome look too, as long as the ribbon has a good sheen.
Thanks all,
Michael
After a bit of an icy evening my internet was out all night. Came back this morning just in time to catch me out in the snow under my new Portis

I think I need to go...
Yes, Stefan, it's been a good couple of weeks in the hat world here. And at the moment, this one is my favorite. I've been looking for a hat with the wide binding since I started getting into hats and this is the first one I've found here.
Thanks,
Michael
Thanks Joe. I'm pretty sure I will enjoy this one a lot.
Thanks Steve. Yes, I'm liking that ribbon treatment a lot. First hat I've found with one like this. Took the car today though, as it's right at freezing and pretty much pouring down rain. Ha ha.
Thanks Hector. I'll agree. The last...
Another one showed up at my favorite vintage store today. Makes me wonder how many I've missed over the last week or so since they started showing up. Ha ha. Portis today.

Thanks Alan. It's definitely one of my nicer hats. And the jacket was a great holiday gift from bartender RBH.
Thanks Daniele. I'm afraid my collection pales in the face of yours. It would be fun to see a French Iron in operation.
Thanks Tim. The ribbon has a very nice sheen to it in the...

No sunshine today. And a little Pendleton on Pendleton for warmth

Thanks Red. I think the hat turned out pretty well. The coat is a Zero King number from around 1969. Heavy wool twill with wool tartan lining. All made in the USA.
That is a mighty spiffy looking hat to be called a beater, Red. Good to hear you are getting a little exercise time in.
That...

Warm, but very windy today. Off for the shopping in a few.

Ha ha, thanks Daniele. I probably should have worn my furry western hat. I do have to say shearling coats get a high rating from me for winter wear.
Super sheen on your Borsalino today. A lovely hat. Also very much have been enjoying your long parade of magnificent heathered felts.
Thanks...
Thanks Steve. Winter finally made a comeback overnight. I think ti was 14 F when I got up. Good sheepskin weather.
Great looking bowler, Steve. That does look quite furry, by bowler standards. I wonder if they ever made a true long hair hard felt?
Thanks,
Michael
Thanks Tim. It turned out better than I expected
Thanks Joe.
Thanks Randall. The crown is 5 3/4 open. I don't know that I made it taller, but I did take some of the taper out of the front. And also reflanged it to get some of the cup out of the brim. And I think I got maybe a quarter inch...
Had to change hats midday as I finished my preliminary refurb on this Knox Twenty

I've been having a lot of headaches. I think I might need a concentrator soon. Ha ha.
It's definitely growing on me.
Both great hats and looks. Love that Sools.
Thanks,
Michael
