Hi
I'm on the lookout for a classic Cafe Racer style jacket.
The ideal specs would be:
Size 42"
Pit to pit 21&1/2 to 22
Back length 26
Sleeve 26
Shoulders 19
These are ideals obviously can go a bit bigger but not much smaller!
I'm in the UK so buying from Europe would be best...
Hi Wayside
Are you sure the 'Crystal Skull' is 13 - 14 years old? It's just the film wasn't released until 2008 and filmed in 2007.
Also what type of felt are they, I'm guessing beaver, but can you confirm?
Cheers
I only seem to able to jet in and out these days, but just wanted to let you guys know I really appreciate seeing all these great hats.
Good to see so many felts still being worn. I realise the practicality of a straw in the summer, but I can never love them like I do a good felt. Today I'm...

This is by far the best modern felt I've ever handled. It has a velvety smooth hand and is incredibly dense, but being thinner than Winchester dress felts is actually lighter.
The colour is incredibly hard to photograph. Its a...
My latest from Mike. This is made from Fepsa rabbit felt. I've only experience of Akubra rabbit felt, both Heritage and Imperial grade. This is completely beyond compare. far thinner, denser and with a much nicer hand. To be honest I'm hard pressed to tell it apart from Winchester 100% beaver...
Hi
I haven't been around too much recently, but have been keeping an eye on this thread. It's great to see such excellent hats, and fun to watch the gradual switch from felt to straw as the weather warms.
I missed the memo about the Sahara hat with rust ribbon, so if I'm not too late...
And others bought stolen property, obviously completely innocently, but they are/were benefitting from the theft. Unsurprisingly this would be upsetting, I'm not sure I'd want to wear a jacket with that provenance.
Wow, I am new to the custom leather jacket world, having discovered this forum via my love of headwear.
I was just about to pull the trigger on an AL jacket as they seemed to offer such good value for money.
Now I know why...needless to say I'll save for longer and put my money...
I had another go, loved the way the sunlight was streaming through a bush this morning:
I really need longer arms to compose this properly, and the shadows weren't as stark as I'd hoped but I blame the poor camera on the phone!
