A note about the Vita-Felts because someone asked in an earlier post... Vita-Felt Process came out in 1940 by Stetson to better compete with Borsalino, at least that is one Historical rumor... Felt is a Textile produced by Matting, Condensing and Processing Fibres together, Wool, Animal, Acrylic... -

I had this over on the Borsalino BrotherHood Threads by mistake so am reposting here... Here is my recently acquired Vintage 1942 Stetson Stratoliner in Slate Gray... Ultra Light Vita Felt . it was 7 1/8 and I bumped it out to 7 3/16 almost 7 1/4 and near perfect fit using a Fat Charly's Hat... -

The BORSALINO BROTHERHOOD
Here is my recently acquired Vintage 1942 Stetson Stratoliner in Slate Gray... Extra Light Felt Fur. it was 7 1/8 and I bumped it out to 7 3/16 almost 7 1/4 and near perfect fit using a Fat Charly's Hat Jack ...fit it into hat at just below top of Sweat Band, snug it up fairly tight, apply Steam... -
