Nice looking jacket but...
I'm one of those who prefers to wear my jacket hard to break it in. Most, if not all, Eastman jackets have an aniline finish and the surface will get roughed up pretty quickly. I personally don't see a need to have the process accelerated at the factory.
That...

Not all of us can afford nor want to wear original WWII era jackets. Personally, I'll take a repro any day over an original - I'm really tough on jackets and wouldn't want to destroy a historical piece of clothing.
For collectors like yourself, originals are...
Brooks Brothers website has one in burgundy with the dark quilted collar but it's about $1000. It's made out of genuine velvet, though, so it is definitely the real thing. If you are looking for fully-functional, that would do it.
Maybe someone more knowledgeable about the...

I think you just demostrated how to properly break-in a leather jacket. Wow, that jacket looks great!! I really like the styling as well. Thanks for sharing your pictures and congratulations on a stellar Aero jacket.

Two thumbs up on "Warhorse"
I've got Eastman's Werber A-2 in the "Warhorse" horsehide. I can't detect any repetitive pattern on any of the jacket panels. Either Eastman did a perfect job of pressing grain into it or it's just natural. I personally think it is the latter.
I wouldn't...
Nice one!
That seal looks really nice but that jacket needs some serious break-in time. It reminds me of when I first got my U.S. Authentic - super stiff. Give it about a month or two and it will soften up nicely!
Congratulations on your purchase. Enjoy!

Looking at the jacket again, I noticed that the belt (or half belt) is the opposite of all the American motorcycle jackets that I have seen. The buckle is always on the left side but on this jacket, the buckle is on the right side. Maybe this is more evidence that the jacket was European-made...
That could be a motorcycle jacket from the 1930s or 1940s. I believe that Schott made their first "Perfecto" jacket in 1928. No doubt, there were other leather coat companies at that time making that style - perhaps it was even purchased from a European manufacturer. I like the look of it -...
Congratulations
That goatskin really looks buttery soft. It looks like a very comfortable jacket. I hope you give it a lot of wear time. Thanks for posting pictures.

For what it's worth, I ordered my true chest size (44R) and jacket is a little roomy but not baggy and the length of the jacket is just a bit long on me. This is just my opinion but I think that a 40T would fit you just the way you want. The only other consideration would be...
That's a beauty John! You really have some great cold weather flight jackets. Does that M-445 have a throat strap closure or does it zip all the way up to close the throat? From your pictures, it looks like it zips all the way but I'm curious.
Thanks,
Noel

I have their A-2 in a size 44 and my chest is exactly 44. I have plenty of "wiggle" room in there. I don't think you will have any trouble going with a 46.

I don't have experience with all of these manufacturers but I do have experience with Eastman, flightjacket.com (U.S. Authentic), and Lost Worlds (which wasn't on your original list). In terms of sheer jacket construction quality, I would rank them Eastman, Lost Worlds, then U.S...
Raul -
The jacket looks to be a great fit. You will appreciate the extra sleeve length when you are driving a car or motorcycling. About the neck hook: I use mine quite frequently and it is a bit snug but not uncomfortable - it is just like having a shirt and neck tie on.
Enjoy your new...
I prefer the #2 jacket purely because of the aniline dye/finish. I think that will develop more character and personalization over time than the spray-dyed jacket.

Hear, hear!
What a beautiful jacket! I love the detailing on the back and on the buckle - they just don't make 'em like that anymore...
I'm not an expert but could this be a Sears jacket? This looks like one of theirs to me.
