    Boater faction!

You MAY want to look around just a little more.....those were ads for "Straw Hat Day", advertising the availability of straw hats for sale, and not really advertising any particular straw model (or company), and in fact among all of them, only one "boater" was even illustrated. Boaters as a...

    German & Austrian Hutmachers

Nothing else on the label......whatever may have been has left no remnants at all. Looks just as in the photo. Nothing behind the sweat itself. Not surprised as to 70's, I thought I was being genous with the late 60's tag. Thanks Steve!

    German & Austrian Hutmachers

I picked up another Tyrolean for my collection. I have I think four or five actual Austrian versions with a few others (German, and velours made for Dobbs) for good measure. I like wearing them in the fall to the Beer Festivals and Christmas Markets. I am unsure but guessing late 60's?? for...

    The open crown Western hat?

Discolored strip is a reaction of the dye to the sweat band leather (tannic acids from the leather processing). Same thing happens when you stack your hats without something between them to prevent the sweat from the hat on top coming against the hat underneath. Occasionally the ribbon will...

    The open crown Western hat?

Here are a few...... And people forget the hands down best selling open crown "western" hat to everyone from the bankers, and railroad men and black smiths, to the likes of Butch Cassidy and Bat Masterson.....the lowly Derby. For when you had to live in or went to town.........you wore a...

Ask a question, get an answer

Here is a origional Strat pin....(DC-3). I forgot they are hinge pins.....(most hat pins are the "bar" type). The new ones are the same but have JBS on them..... Pictures from internet.......to lazy to go photograph mine. Here is a pict of my modern Premier Strat with a hinge pin of an...

Ask a question, get an answer

Other.....Strat pins have TWA on them, are silver, and are "bar" pins (that have a longer bent pin that slides into the ribbon, with no back lock). Also they are DC-3s though there are also proper period Stratoliner bent pins of the period around....not sure who made them....

What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

Or the whole rest of the country....the "All or Nothing" approach is ridiculous.....and none of the 'ideas" are well thought out at all....did no one learn from (or pay attention to) the Texas Winter power outages??? Much of this seems deliberately intended to isolate us, limit movement...
