H-D Cycle King Jacket Vs. Aero Indian Ranger

The leather jacket + shirt and tie combo really reminds me of the old 50's drawn advertising. It seems back then it was a really normal combination. You rock it well.

Uncool, dorky things you won't be caught dead in

I have never worn a tracksuit in my life and i intend to die having never worn one... Also, shorts are wrong if you are older than 12.

    Leather jacket fit check!

IMO a hoodie and a leather jacket have no business being together. If you can wear a hoodie underneath a jacket, the jacket is too big. To me that's like wanting to be able to wear a ski jacket underneath a dress suit, there is no reason to do it and a suit that allows you to wear a ski jacket...

FS: Lost Worlds Easy Rider HH Jacket 42

I can tell because i have handled around 30 LW jackets and ordered a few in 4oz straight from Stuart.

    Broken-in Lost Worlds a Myth?

I have a few jackets of both, i prefer the new recipe. It's just as armour like but it feels better when worn and it gets more interesting grain. Stuart doesn't have any of the old style hides left, only new recipe is available.

FS: Lost Worlds Easy Rider HH Jacket 42

@Edward Can anything be done to make sure this doesn't happen again? Zot never took part in TFL threads, he only ever used the forum as a market place. That's IMO fine as long as you play by the rules, but when you start scamming people there should be consequences. Thanks.

    Broken-in Lost Worlds a Myth?

Both old and new recipe where available in different ranges of weight. In the pictures above the J-24 is ever so slightly thicker than the J-23, but not by much. The older recipe is always more rigid than the new one at equivalent thickness. Lastly, weight on LW jackets is really not an exact...

FS: Lost Worlds Easy Rider HH Jacket 42

I just wanted to point out to future buyers that this sale was a rip off... I'm pretty disappointed as this is the 5th or 6th jacket i buy from Zot. I sent him a PM asking for bottom hem measurement, was told it was 20.75" and i decided to buy. Zot then offered me a second jacket (J-23 below)...

    Broken-in Lost Worlds a Myth?

Old recipe: New Recipe: One important difference is the core, the old hides where not dyed 100% through and usually show a thin white/grey line in the core of the leather. The new recipe on the other hand is fully dyed though and 100% black core. Here is a pic, you can see the grey...

    Broken-in Lost Worlds a Myth?

The recipe was changed in 2016 or something like that. I have jackets made from both leathers and there is a very noticeable difference. The newer recipe breaks in much faster and shows more grain, but it is softer and feels less armour like. Terry's jacket above is definitely the old recipe...

Loose thread on leather jacket pocket

Use this technique with two needles, there is no need for a leather needle as you are not making holes, just going through already made ones. (no need tu pull the stitches as tight as he is doing it or you will deform the leather) It's really an easy fix if you are a bit handy. Like @Monitor i...

Loose thread on leather jacket pocket

That's not good, that kind of stitching damage will carry on unravelling if you don't do anything. If it was mine i would most likely pull all the thread in between the two broken stitches and restitch it myself by hand using two needles. Unless you do that i am ready to bet that the thread in...

Is this kind of damage common on new leather jackets? Do leather jackets get scratched easily?

It's impossible to say, this c ould be a mark that you have done, or it could be a mark that was in the hide when the jacket was built. Either way i would not worry about it, there is nothing you can do to fix it and odds are you will make your own in time wearing the jacket. Leather scratches...

    Help!! Stain on leather jacket

+1 to what Monitor said. IMO you will never be able to remove it 100%. There is also no way to guarantee a redye would work, as the dye might not soak in the greasy bit the same way it soaks in the non greasy bit. Your only real option is as you say to change the pannel, but Murphy's law tells...

Ever wish western companies would compete?

New Lewis, i don't see how the packaging is inferior to a Japanese jacket: I also don't get why this is important, that box and tags where recycled years ago and no one is missing them. As @Aloysius said, it seems this thread is based on misconceptions...

How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

Stuart says this is a very early version, mid 90s. A nice piece of LW history you found there, pics when you get it please. I hope it fits!

Advice Aero Leather 30s Half Belt

Imo it looks perfect, you just need slightly higher rise pants. You could add length to the jacket but that will give you a weird "long torso" look and will be annoying when sitting down. Sleeves are just how i like them too, at the wrist bone.
