Here is an older pair of Church's gunboats:

Totally amazing `gunboats' Tony. Simply awesome...
Very interesting topic Finnatic. l reckon that getting tatts in those days would have been pretty risky (less education about hygene).
But really, tattoos are nothing new. Ancient cultures have been doing it for hundreds of years.
l absolutely love them and have been very jealous of you all week.
l always look for Nettletons on ebay, but hardly ever see the pairs with the full leather heal. How do you get these things?
All the dead stock appear to be in very narrow widths. True?
l'd love to know the seller if...
l really like the black at the end of the toes. Yes, it can be taken off because it's a crust leather. Maybe a neutral wax (lots of rubbing under pressure) or some alcohol would take it off.
Gunboats are not just double sole shoes. Gunboats = large double sole shoo-monsters with very broad 360 degree welting (usually wingtips, but can be other shoos too).
A pair of Santoni Handmade (tan sock).
l was gonna be an idiot and buy a pair of brown Gucci captoes and a pair of over priced Moreschi loafers, but l held true to Santoni.
l have lots of good shoos, but l still have no way near enough shoos. l like lots of good shoos and l never have enough to be satisfied. Fortunately (being in Australia) there isn't many good shoos here (keeps the shoo-numbers down), so my list of 117 shoos (to purchase) will probably go down to...
Awesome `gunboats' gentlemen. Very good stuff indeed!
l've got some `gunboats' too. No way near enough, but i've got these anyway:
* AE shell cordovan burgundy wingtip.
* Johnny Moke black plaintoe blucher
* Trickers tan wingtip (huge)
* Trickers tan split toe (very very huge) :)...
l notice Trickers does all their biggest gunboats (St James Collection) with a wider stitch [than normal] along the welt. ls this as secure as the single sole Trickers with closer stitching?? Something really bothers me about the big Trickers gunboats l own......
Gunboats are not just...
Who has gunboats? (Gunboats = large double sole shoo-monsters with very broad 360 degree welting)
Do you like gunboats or dislike them?
What gunboats do you have gentlemen?
l've been a huge fan of gunboats since l was a kid of about 3. l was purchasing big monsters with 360...
Trickers `gunboats'.
Drive an hour in heavy traffic and picked up this great pair of Trickers `gunboats'. Soles are surprisingly flexible on first wear. l intend to wear these alot as muck around shoos and for lots of walking. l really like the fit.
l'll give them a good polish...
The fudge welt and the stitching of the fudge welt looked better on the pre-repaired pair. The fudge welt doesn't have the `artistic groove' that the old fudge had, but maybe that will occur when the construction settles in.
None-the-less: quite a reasonable recraft old chap. Bravo to you.
