My grandmother, being a remnant of the Old South aristocracy, had the entire family over to eat almost every Sunday evening. We'd go over to her home (where I now live) at around five in the evening and sit in the living room and talk until the rest of the gang drifted in. Then we'd sit down...
The other day I set up my camera to take a series of film noir-style photos. They came out tolerably well considering that they were taken on the fly with no set up whatsoever. The first one became my current avatar.
Well, if you're as tall as you sound, the Explorer would suit you fine. I'm 5' 10"-11", and the dang shirt end comes to my knees. I think it's be just right on you, if the sleeves are long enough.
We have a great diner down here in Pensacola, the Scenic 90 Cafe.
It's one of my favorite places to eat. It always makes me think of the diner scenes in Back to the Future.
Well, it's pretty cool up here right near P'cola right now, and the shirt is just right. I'd say it's best for milder temperatures, or at the least, low humidity. The nature of the fabric makes it pretty warm.
How loose of a knit? Well, it feels slightly stiffer than a t-shirt, but not much. It's hard to describe really. The best way to say it is that it has the same feel of a pullover sweater, but thinner and tighter-woven.
The sleeves are pretty wide at the armhole, and they stretch out a...
The shirt has arrived! I've worn it twice, and I like it as much or more than anything I've owned up till now. The fabric is different, being a knit instead of twill or canvas. It's very dynamic, but thick and comfortable. The half-button style gives it great character.
The only problem I...
Sometimes I'll wear mine, if it's a short trip. Otherwise, I drop down the food table and lay it there, provided the tray doesn't have honey-roasted peanut residue on it. My hats have a tendency to fall off of my knees. I either have fat knees or a small head, still trying to decide which.
The winter is approaching, and contrary to popular belief, Florida gets quite damp and biting from late December to early April. I've been looking for a good overcoat to wear out, but I'm having a hard time finding one that I like, and I was hoping that some of you fine folks could help me out...
Just got back from seeing it. It kept me enthralled; in a quiet sort of way. The whole film is one amazing magic trick, and the prestige of it all is astounding.
I get enough comments when I wear a hat with a light-colored shirt, so I would definitely never wear an Indy jacket with a brown hat. A-2, maybe, but not a traditional Wested.
I also must vouch for Cabela's quality, but except in mild weather, the standard safari shirt isn't simply too warm as Mojave Jack mentioned. I sweat quite a bit in warm temperatures, so if I stand outside for a while, then go back in, the sweat cools and I get a very uncomfortable sticky chill...
I was at some friends' house, standing in their front yard touching off fireworks. As midnight rolled around were started the countdown and let out some happy yells when the lights stayed on.
