    Vintage Concealed Weapons

Let's pump some life back into this thread. Vintage 1960s S&W Model 10 in a well-made copy of an A.W. Brill holster.

    WW2 USAAF embossed wings

But there are examples of Army jackets with embossed wings, but these also appear to include the name and not just wings. Hope these help. This is an ANJ-3 jacket that is on display at LAX.

    WW2 USAAF embossed wings

Most of the WW-II embossed wings I have seen were on USN/USMC jackets, like these from 1944, and include the name.

    WW2 USAAF embossed wings

I am by no means an expert, and there are plenty on TFL who are, but I have seen very few wings on WW-II USAAF jackets. Most of those that I have seen were either pinned on or painted on.

What is your favorite hat crease?

Akubra Campdraft Heritage Grade. Rebashed to a diamond from a center-dent and it then went from rarely worn to my go-to hat (not sure why).

    Show us your Guns!

When I first started in law enforcement, Clyde’s Saddle Shop was located just South of Gainesville, Florida. Clyde had started in the leather business around WW-I, and though he was not well-known outside of the area, he was very popular with locals – many of the people I worked with had belts...

    Movie hats

Over the weekend, I caught the last 10 minutes or so of "Dead Ringer" (1964) with Bette Davis and Karl Malden. In the final scene, Malden turns his back to camera and his hat crease jumped off the screen at me. Here are a couple of other views of his hat, including one from the front.

    Sources for leather hat bands?

Most of my hatbands come from these folks: http://outwestsaddlery.com/hat-bands/ Top quality, excellent prices, and customer service that can't be beat.

how many leather jacket should you have?

From experience, when the weight of your jackets pull the hanger off the closet wall, that's probably enough. But as my friend says, ". . . just one more."

+1 on Kahr DA triggers - the best DA auto trigger out there IMHO. And I have several friends who swear by their Keltec PF-9s as EDC guns.

Thanks Kirk - it was a long bumpy road getting the deal done. Also thanks for the LCP info - no complaints with mine but all the new features make it very appealing.

    Show us your Guns!

In bound to round out my "Frank Hamer Collection" - after a month-plus of fighting with the USPS, the dealer finally got my "lost" payment (apparently Priority Mail = 32 days, not 2 days). Hopefully I will have the actual gun in the next week or so. Laser engraved Cimarron model P. "New Lucky"
