I'm in S. Florida, so I don't have to worry about winter wear for the most part. But next month, I'm going to the NC Smoky Mountains, where it will no doubt be cold, so I'll be taking my russet brown" LW Speed Demon" jacket...Its 4oz horsehide will keep me warm... I'll pair it with a nice wool...
feltfan -- Thanks, I'll have to give that a try...Yep, they seem to be made from a high quality steerhide. Hopefully, they develop a nice patina with use.
Zombie_61 -- I used to feel the same way, but I developed a real liking to them... Now, I wear them pretty much on a daily basis, at least whenever I'm wearing jeans, which is quite often... They become like a "trusty buddy ", one who's always there for ya.
This was my 1st RRL purchase, but they really have some nice quality stuff... Someday, I would love to get a pair of their studded engineer's...
PS -- the BOSS boots look superb too
Breaking in a new pair of RRL Engineer Boots... Might have to take them to my cobbler, since the R/boot fits too tight around the top of my foot... Aside from that, they're awesome.
For Xmas, I asked Santa for a pair of good quality BLK engineer boots, and he came through, delivering a pair of RRL's in 10D... My actual size is 9.5EE -- but if wide sizes aren't available, I get a 10D for a roomier fit. I love them... They wreak of quality right out of the box. The right...
actually, I think it was more like height/weight and he figured it out... I'm a 47 snug -- but wanted a little extra room for layering, so he suggested getting a 48, which fits me perfect...
I also have 2 LW jackets, including a russet brown "Speed Demon." Plus, I'm waiting on a third, a goatskin "Raider." All I can say is that Stuart is dead on balls accurate with sizing.
