From the samples I got:
Old one: Red/brown, more like midweight.
New one: Dark chocolate, thick and more suedy.
From how mine looks, your look the same. Like the old one.
This would also be consistent with what they use in their A2´s
This picture is not a good picture of the color of my...
There are loads of places to get expensive thick selvedge so thats no problem.
But I'm looking for something for the summer.
I want them to be fairly thin, like 14oz or something (but can be lighter). I would love if they are dry, but its not a must.
Doesn't have to be selvedge (but doesn't...
Sometimes til the end of June. Although there are people walking in shorts and t-shirts today, but they are just crazy, its still only 12-14c
For me I wear the alpaca Cheyenne until 10c then its the cotton lined Highwayman until about 14c and then I can wear the AgedTan CafeRacer
and now also my...
I have a Charles Chevignon "Old flight jacket" that is as old as I am and its nice to have a jacket that you dont care too much about and can use for everything. Its beaten and used to the part of disintegrating :D
I agree that if its sewn wrong, then its a defect and it could be changed.
(doesnt mean its that bad that one wants to change it tho, but Aero should change it if thats what the owner wants - yes I agree to this)
Its hard to see in the picture, but it looked like just stiff hide to me, and yes...
I still don´t understand you, and that is why I made that comment.
Heavy hides can be very stiff, so as I said, if one doesn´t like it then its not for them. Its still not a defect.
A crack is not the same as a stiff unbroken in hide. Aero is made from humans, humans make mistakes. Aero have...
Lets take it a little easy here. Its not a defect.
The leather is very very thick, so offcourse its not gonna be pliable like cloth.
Very often the collar points out sharp because of this, and its just to wet it with a little water.
Its not a defect, but because of the thickness and stiffness...
I told Amanda there is one of the greatest Bowmakers in the world in Scotland - Border Bows, and they should go together and make quiver and sidebags from horsehide and steerhide :p
Great looking Windwards - both of you!!
I would love an Aero in black waxcotton. The motorcycle jacket they had in green waxcotton was also incredible.
They might do it if you supply the waxcotton (as a forumer once did)
I also regret not having the funds to get a B-10.
I forgot that I actually have sent in a jacket for modification. It came out unbelievable good - to me. Incredible workmanship.

If the jacket feels snug, it will probably be a perfect fit after breaking in...
i always mold my collars with warm water, but i soak the entire collar under the tap (only the collar)
then i mold it and then the jacket hangs to dry for a day, sometimes one have to check it from time to time and shape it again if it goes out, depending on the leather.
it works very good, it...
If the end of the jacket doesnt have the zip, it will get creases over time so when you stand up the ends will point outwards.
i guess it will do that even with the jacket unzipped....:)
