I have no need to buy a "crushable" hat... I just buy Pre-Crushed hats on ebay lol. I DO have apackable Pendleton wool hat that is my nasty weather hat..... like it a lot but its just too hot for summertime use here -

I love caps too, but living here in Texas, were too warm for a wool cap about 8 months of the year... Humm wonder if anyone makes one in a decent equadorian straw? -

being a leatherworker I have the fix.... two big bags of really thin lizard skins. cut and glued a bridge piece across the backside of the sweat. Got a bit of Pecards worked in and letting it sit for a while. After the glue has time to set Ill gently tap the surface down flat. will be perfectly... -

Fun little Towncraft came in today ( Maybe a Lee made?). Really nice soft fur felt. Snaps up and down nicely. Ribbon binding on edge. Cleaned up pretty quick... just a couple little character stains on the ribbon but not enough to keep it at home! -

AKUBRA METROPOLITAN.....I got the mystery hat in today... straight from someones closet in Austrailia! Its an Akubra Metropolitan. Have been unable to find anything about this model but maybe someone can add to this... Its a 2" brim and 4 3/4" tall crown. Has a cool little triple stitched brim... -

I cant really do straws all the time, so during our April thru September "straw" season, I do tend to pull out some lighter felts. I DID just pick up a nice soft Paja Toquilla for the summer... will have to see what sweat does to it lol -
