Several Interesting Vintage Suits via Ebay

and this one's a 31" chest: http://www.ebay.com/itm/VTG-Gildner-3pc-Blue-pinstripe-suit-40s-50s-38-chest-x32-waist-/191542276962?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2c98cf3362&rmvSB=true ... even the really petite gents have missed out on that one. what a shame.

Several Interesting Vintage Suits via Ebay

seller says vests are measured: "pit to pit under the arms laid out flat" so there you have it. the Ronnie Barrie suit is a 34" chest. official. :rolleyes2:

Several Interesting Vintage Suits via Ebay

i've emailed the seller to ask how he's measuring the vests. 17.5" (which would equate to a 34 chest) doesn't make any sense on a suit with a 41" pit to pit measurement.

    The $10,000 leather Gladstone bag

i prefer this Foster & Sons Gladstone / kit bag which is £4200 cheaper (£2500 compared to £6700): http://foster.co.uk/our-products/luggage-and-cases/suitcases-and-luggage/canvas-leather-suitcase-2/

Gentlemen, show us what you've made!

nice work Nick. i don't think the breast pocket looks overly high. i don't have a problem working out what to make next... i just have a problem motivating myself to get started, since i find sewing / tailoring such a chore.

British belt-back hunting suit, ~42" chest

(btw, when i mentioned emailing the seller above, i was referring to why he was selling such a rare suit at all, not the low starting price)

British belt-back hunting suit, ~42" chest

i think this suit will safely sail past the £200 mark, so i don't think it's much of a risk.

British belt-back hunting suit, ~42" chest

it's a 39" chest, not a 42" ;) i know the seller of this suit and had to email him to make sure he hadn't taken leave of his senses.

Baby Blue Burton Belt Back Suit

Freddie, you have a rare collection of British belt back suits. they really deserve to be documented in a book, such as the Vintage Showroom's book which came out a year or two ago. that book was a bit light on suits for my liking.
