So trivial, yet it really ticks you off.

I did that once and the girl at the checkout line said to me "what'd you do this time?" It really caught me off guard and we all had a good laugh.

Sadly we can't have flowers in the house because of the cat. She'd either eat them of knock them on the floor, so we've learned to do without. Love the Hallowe'en costumes. It was great fun making my son's costumes, especially the cardboard box and duct tape ones (I usually followed him with a...

From our last trip to Shanksville (Thanksgiving 2018) The point of impact is marked by a boulder at the end of the path in the foto. Only the families of the victims are allowed to go past the gate to the spot.

Thank you, you're too kind. Other costumes I forgot were a cowboy (he was probably 2 at the time and we have a picture after we wrestled the camera away from him of a crying cowboy. I made a vest out of cow patterned material for that one.), a chicken, Perry the Platypus, a lawn Gnome, and...

I must admit that when my son was younger I truly enjoyed making costumes for him. Highlights have been an ear of corn, a Mariachi, a traffic light, a spaceman, a pez dispenser, and his last one: a refrigerator with a severed head in the freezer. Thank goodness for duct tape and cardboard boxes!

Forgive me, but the true sorrow is that you are letting an unfortunate coincidence define your niece's birthday for you. You should, in my opinion, celebrate the fact that despite (or is it in spite of?) the horror of the events of that day and the darkness which abounded in the world, amid it...

9-11 observances. I'm sorry, I just can't watch them and I never could. I was home at the time and had the TV on. I watched the events go down as they happened. I really have no need nor desire to relive them every year. That being said, I have twice visited the Shanksville memorial. It is a...

My wife likes to watch, of all things, bull riding and that type of hat with that odd looking brim seems to be part of the "uniform." It's all you see. I've never understood the aesthetic appeal of that type of brim but that's all you seem to see anymore (outside of work a day hats). I'm more...

Would you rather see the front brim turned down such as to be almost vertical? Don't forget the honking big fanned out feather gorget on the front, and maybe a snake skin hat band for good measure.

If only! I've been seeing Christmas stuff for much more than a month already!

If only! If I remember correctly I was fine until 8. It's been down hill ever since. I think I remember reading something to the effect that men spend 3/4 of their lives trying to make up for everything they did in the first 1/4. If only I could perfect selective amnesia!

    What's For Breakfast...

Doing intermittent fasting so won't break fast (hopefully) until this evening, but had a warmed over cup of coffee before leaving the house, and am sipping on hot water here at work.

A 1952 paint scheme in a 1934 film? How prescient!

Ours is a working class city generally speaking. The schools suck so there really isn't any big influx of affluence. We moved here to be closer (4 miles) to his private school, so that doesn't effect us. It's just a comfortable bedroom community. The neighboring city to the south is a different...

Something that we've noticed about the new community that we moved into (been here just a year) isn't so much annoying as it is amusingly stupefying. We live in the land of the lawn service. Of the dozen or so of our immediate neighbors (give or take), may be 3 (us included) maintain their own...

I have seen the dark side and I didn't like it. Participating on various forums is about as close as I get to social media. There are different types of fora each with distinctly different dynamics driving them. I find that history oriented forums (I consider FL to be such a forum, largely) are...

The boy scouts around here sell popcorn. No idea what it costs as I'm not interested. Back in the day when I was in scouts we sold lightbulbs.
