Just checking into this as I "stumbled" upon this page searching for Vintage Jackets at lunch today. Interesting concept, This European manufacturer has an extensive collection of jackets which are shown on the page. Then when you select the one you want re-made, they will apparently make you...
I have three pair of Nick's boots sitting near me in my house, so I am what is known as a repeat customer of theirs.
However I will not be purchasing this jacket, even at this introductory price. I tend to agree with Woodtroll's comments above. Stick to what you are (really) great at. Scope...
For anyone around a size "38" seeking a nice straight-zip Cal Leather with AMAZING grainy Horsehide leather, this may be your ticket! @Will Zach Maybe around your size? It does have a couple small repairs, but they look to have been quite well done.
$400 or best offer on ebay...
Funny how times change in ~ 2 years. Looking back at my earlier post, I would now put a Langlitz direct in-person fitting in Portland as my top choice.
@MrEvoX - Hope you found something you enjoy
Hello FL friends, catch & release on a nice pair of Chippewa Made in USA black leather Engineer boots. Appear to be very well kept, just a bit too tight a fit for me. Newly resoled & bottomed as shown in photo with "Cat's Paw" heels and Vibram soles. No odd odors, clean and ready for use...
^^ Not fun to hear about your scenario.
I have owned two of his J23's and one was ordered from him directly. The phone call we shared when I ordered it was direct, simple and pleasant. However that apparently has not been the case with everyone.
Not only what you indicated but his prices...
If you just read a while on here, you will get many thoughts and learn a lot.
I do not own any Schott's at this time, but have samples them in the past and had no issues other than (often" "fixed quilted lining" ) in several of their offerings.
Perhaps a bit more of a Find - In Europe so may be beneficial to our European friends...

^^ One of the best photos on FL - in my opinion anyway! :)
Well, I just fished an offer on a newly resoled/bottomed pair of Chippewa Engineers, and it was accepted!!
So I should soon see these...
Honestly, this may be one of your best options. I've personally handled several back in the '90's and early 2000's that were Goatskin and seemed of good quality overall. Many were Made in US too.
Here's a "48R" without it's LL-Bean tags and some wear, but nice chunky Talon zippers for $39.99...
i would recommend to look pre-owned. Lots of good options there. I don't do A2's personally, but if you search around on this site you'll find out tons of info.
^^ Exactly what he said! What this jacket needs as much as anything is to be worn. Even given some "rough usage" for a while. Go backpacking with it on, etc.
