Got this Lewis Lightning from Marc a while ago, first time wearing it, I've dropped about 20kg since I bought it but I'm enjoying the shorter and relaxed fit. The lightweight leather is very suitable for Spring weather!
As a cheapskate, I don't shop at the international denim stores, the prices are higher and I am not local to them so it would just be online shopping anyways for me and I can't try them on nor would it be particularly easy or cheap to return for sizing.
So for me, the difference is that other...
I recognised a similar pocket design from this wool and leather combination jacket as worn by Johnny Depp, same maker? Second one has straight pockets.
What fabric do you like the best? I haven't touched heavy denim since I first started getting into denim but it was a cheap Chinese brand that didn't really impress me. I've been interested in trying one of Iron Hearts 21 oz or 25 oz since they get so much hype.
Iron Heart International really pushed hard to make themselves basically the exclusive distributors other than some other select denim stores that charge similar prices. They also made it so none of the stores that sell Iron Heart domestically in Japan can ship to international customers. Prices...
Agreed on the warmth, it feels basically the exact same as an A-2 with the only difference being the mouton collar that you can pop and button for extra warmth. The lining is traditionally rayon I believe, either way, not an insulated quilted or woolen lining so it does not provide much warmth...
I see what you mean, that one looks a little undersized for my preference. The previous image in the Windward looks like an appropriate size to my preference even if I'm not a fan of the cut as much. I get what you mean for that example, but other photos I've seen around I think look really...
Still, I don't see the Rainbow Country as feminine honestly. I see that term thrown around here a lot is it necessarily a bad thing? I've even seen jackets with wide shoulders and narrow waist (even though classic bodybuilding emphasizes these exact things) or any cropped jacket being described...
Yeah I was about to say, they're repro in the design, but the fit is completely different to the originals. Originally I though otherwise when I compared some measurement tables with a vintage one, they were close, but when worn the difference is very apparent. When I tried Rainbow Country the...
What got the creases out of mine was wear, after wearing it in a downpour the whole jacket was soaked but as it dried it lose the original creases where the arms were folded flat in storage. As you wear it will go away but you can wear it in the rain to fast-forward the process.
Depends on the model and the store. The Mushman collaboration models like the Windward and Lakeland have direct side by side comparison photos. I think they do take special care in reproducing details, but pretty much everything uses the Californian Mfg. label instead of the original label. The...
Pretty sure most of them are, Hercules is the iconic one, Windward, Lakeland, All-State. Not sure on the source of the design for the cafe racer though, same with the Ponyboy although I've seen vintage examples that are 95% match.
The ones I've seen that aren't repro are just modifications of...
I have experience with this, my Lost Worlds G-1 fits big/boxy on me. When new it fit like a cardboard box, just looked really weird and stiff, after a while and a bit of wear in the rain, it got soft and draped more naturally. It's still a looser fit on me, but because the stiffness has lessened...
Maybe it's the cut of your pants? I was size 36-38 when I wore high rise jeans they sat at my belly button, but because my waist to hip bone area was around same width I needed a belt to keep them up. Now at size 30-32, it's pretty much the same but because my waist is narrower, they won't fall...
Interesting, this link says it's made by Blackmeans, a more fashion focused punk style brand. Most of their stuff is the long and slim cross zip jackets.
The seller of that 1% also said that the side adjusters remind them of Real McCoys, but that's pretty random and I agree it doesn't look like...
I have pretty average feet except my toes are super wide, enough where I think most boots will not fit me comfortably. One thing I found pretty nice about engineers is they do offer round lasts. Not the "rounded lasts" that are tapered and rounded only at the tip, but proper rounded around the...
