One of the former cowboy conversions gets the duty this morning. Not nearly as soft or nice of felt as an older Stetson, but its sure not embarrassed to sit right next to a nicer lid.
I really love the flatter brim Open Roads... Definately a Stratoliner-ish vibe. I just cant do the LBJ style with the brim up all around in felt ( I like it with my Hemps, but to me it looks wierd on my head in a felt)
Thanks! Im going to to see how many whisky jugs are buried in the outbuildings of the East Texas Baptists around here... Im seeing a fair number on ebay, but theyre either a $400 collectable piece, or a $75 jug with $100 shipping lol... I do believe Ill be looking local for one. May be time to...
What size whisky jug do you use for your pics? 1 gal, 2 gal? Went through the Museum of Appalachia a few years back and Ill swear they had hundreds of jugs from dang near everyone that ever put their juice in a jug! Some really cool looking stoneware. Its makes for a great hat display!
Ending the day in a Turquoise Hemp Stratoliner, with a Bloody Mary, and my last real Cuban ( Romer Y Julietta Churchill). Sigh... last one... guess its time for a trip back to St Somewhere and pick up some more
its after 10am, its sunny, 86 deg and going up, with 95% humidity. Time for something cold. How about a Shiner Prickley Pear Lager. The label colors even go well with the new-old stetson ribbon!
7am it was 80 degrees and humidity at least 90% (thats as high as my meter goes) . Ill call this as an INDOOR day
The old rose trimmed 3x Stetson gets its first coffee run this morning. Actually digging the cattlemans crease with this smaller brim
After thinking it over today, Ive come to the conclusion that the hat had been sprayed with one of the spray cleaning powders... and then never brushed off ( so it hardened and set a bit). The Bickmore foaming clean did a really nice job at removing the residual. I used up the last of my...
Just home from the road and all in all it was a nice day. He was alert and talkative. we had a good visit. SO glad we had the chance to visit before things go really downhill. ( and I still dislike the Houston traffic lol)
Love your friends and family... and make sure they know it while you...
Interesting development with the other 3x beaver long oval with the cattlemans crease that arrived yesterday. I was getting a lot of dust off after brushing and started seeing what looked like pale red spots on the ribbon. Did some cleaning last night with the foaming cleaner and left it out on...
Got some steaming on todays No 1. It seems to be determined to hang onto the Cattlemans Crease. Rather than fight it I decided to leave it as is and work around it. Tried re-flanging it, but the brim-up just didnt suit me, and up in back- down if font just didnt look right. So... I got the brim...
