    Phoenix Hat Company

It's not often I get to make a good old fashioned western hat so this BOP wannabe was a nice change. We're calling it the "Santiago". Named for it's destination city. Thanks F. Wear it in good health my friend and cowboy on!

I'll be looking forward to seeing how you do with that Brent. It seems pretty straightforward and easy enough to use.

I have a full set that I purchased many years ago from JW Hats in Utah. $300 for 3 irons and built to last a lifetime. I also have an antique iron that took me many years to find. It's just that those brass ones are so damn pretty.

Thank you fellas for all the kind words. I can't adequately express what your collective friendship has meant to me. My hat making journey has been, far and away, less about the hats than it has been about the people under them and I'm grateful to have gotten to know all of you. I was recently...

    Hats With Musical Instruments

Thanks DD. Part of the cost of this instrument was a promise from the young lady to learn "12th Street Rag" and play it for me. An old man always needs something to look forward to.

    Hats With Musical Instruments

The Schoble bowler and this recently completed banjo ukulele, or banjolele, seem like a natural pair. The Schoble is likely from sometime in the early 1900's during a time period when the banjolele was first arriving (1917) on the music scene. I used an 8" tamborim hand drum for the body, a...

Looks great Jonesy! I'm relieved that you're not living where you're living without an ukulele. It would be unthinkable.

Beautiful hat Scott! I'm happy to report that the old Miller building has been lovingly restored to most of it's original glory and is currently home to many Knoxville retail and commercial businesses.

That picture pictures speaks to me on many levels. Mostly because that's how I see myself in my golden years. A peaceful old man playing music on the porch.

    Tabletop Hatters of The Lounge

I heard the rumor that M&F Western Supply carried the 2 and 3 ply ribbon. After several calls to them I was informed that I could only buy it if I had a vendor account. They referred me to my local M&F vendor, Elliot's Shoes and Boots and was told they could order it for me. I then made several...
