Jep, these flanges are ready made with the curl in them. These are used fairly regularly in Europe.
They are often asymmetric, the curve from the front down to curled up in the back will be slightly different on both sides.
This makes for a clean looking brim flange but no option of flipping...
It’s not uncommon for some flanges to be shorter in the back. I have quite a few of them.
It has to do with the bending of the neck and looking up. This way your hat will not touch your neck/shoulders and move upwards on your head.
I was walking and saw these.
My first thought was that these must have been a real pickle installing.
Harv, I blame you [emoji12]
Put a big smile on my face though.
The second one I was tempted to buy. Merely because it had a newspaper of may 1944 tucked under the sweat. And it was from a Belgian store.
I had no use for them, and the size was so small so I let them for another person to pick up.
Get a taupe color.
It becomes more grey with cool tones and brown with warm tones.
That’s usually how I fix this issue.
Grey works too but I think you would like the brown more. So go with your gut instinct so to speak.
I think people overthink hat colors a little sometimes. It will match...
It’s actually a traditional dish here. Called tomate crevette.
It’s a hollowed out tomate filled with grey north sea shrimp, hard boiled egg, mayo and a little onion and parsley.
It’s delicious!
